Pentax MX lenses

Sounds like you are interested in 85mm. The M85/2 is the cheaper option but still pretty good. The K85 is a little faster, a lot heavier, a bit more expensive, but also optically very good. I would avoid the A series lenses as the A gets you nothing on an MX, and the ease with which they can be used on digital drives the price up. The A85/1.4is a superb lens (I have been told) but is rare and expensive.

Hope that helps. K.

[This is a cross-posting of my Single in July challenge round-up. This is the seventh month of using my K-series primes.]

I've been especially uninspired this month, which is a shame as the weather has been bright and sunny and the K85 is a lovely lens. It suffers a bit from green fringing on occasion, but usually Lightroom deals with that. I've had terrible trouble getting my purples purple but I think that is me not the lens! I've also used the extension tubes quite a bit. For portraits (after all, that is what the lens is designed for), the minimum focal length is fine, but for flower and object safety shots (far too many this month), it is a bit long. Here are the best of a dull bunch.

I've been wondering what to use. I did consider the K150 but I found I had completed a month with this lens in October 2020. I think I am going to use the K35/3.5 which is one of the K series lenses I have had the longest and used the least. The high ISO capability of the the K-3iii should help offset the slow maximum aperture.

I was planning to use my K105 but I forgot to send it off for a minor repair. Maybe the K150 instead? The 200s might be a tad long. Thinking of the K30 for Sept and the K55/1.8 for Oct

In the days when I mostly shot slides as I needed at least some of them for projection, I used Kodachrome 64 whenever I could afford it. Now that I use digital for images I need to project, and K64 no longer exists, I use Ektar 100 a great deal. I came second in a Kodak Alaris / Analogue Wonderland Ektar competition a couple of years ago.

We've always been ecumenical in the film section of the fora. As a result, we have quite an active community unlike the UK fora where the film section is almost completely dead. None of the manufacturers are competing in this sector of the market anyway.

It is a little twist wheel inside the LX. You can only change it when there isn't a film in the camera and the back is open. I was testing a dial data back before selling it and forgot to twist it back. Doh.

I was a bit fed-up that I didn't spot the little blind was down when I loaded my first roll of Ilford Delta 3200. The blind is for when one is using the dial data back, and I had run a few test rolls through the camera a while back.
