At first glance, this image seemed 'enhanced' but as I looked closer, I realized it is actually a very well seen and made image of a one of nature's wonders.

The very careful composition puts the anthers at the centers of the petal patterns which enhances contrast and impact and IMO best meets the theme of the January 2019 contest "Contrasting Colors".

Compliments to lyrics51!

Well designed 'abstract' image. Remarkable for how the natural colors of the sky and those of the car light mimic each other.

Ah, interesting! Your clever framing breaks it into multiple planes and creates a very dynamic composition.

Greetings from Motown!

What is going on in #11??

And interesting that the theme 'Celebration' elicits so many fireworks shots.

A remarkably dramatic image of what normally be a mundane subject.

It also addresses the theme very well!

Has anyone tried this one?

SUNWAYFOTO Universal L QR Plate DPL-02 Arca Compat NEW - eBay (item 360327043485 end time Mar-09-11 13:14:04 PST)

The infinite variability from 41mm to 63mm looks very useful.

I'm wondering about rigidity . . . I've found that it's essential to snug the edge of the camera to the bracket to avoid flex.

Thanks all!

Monochrome, that's the page I had in mind; no idea why I couldn't find it.

I see Mark Hama listed. Not sure what's going on with him but members of Rangefinder Forum and pnet have reported serious problems over the past months.

Anyone here dealt with him recently?

Reliable repair in U.S.?

If this is in the wrong forum or has already been addressed ad nauseum please advise. I searched the forums and didn't find an answer.

I have a Pentax PK-A lens that works wonderfully but for one thing; it's missing the tiny bearing that makes in an 'A' lens and thus functions as an 'M'. I bought it that way after being told by one of my local servicers that he could easily handle it. Turns out he doesn't have the part nor do any of my other local servicers.

So, any suggestions for a reliable, reasonably priced servicer in the U.S.? To keep shipping cost down, I prefer to keep it in the U.S.

TIA!/Scottax1

Bringing a somewhat older thread back to life here . . . but it's new to me! ;)

Unless I missed it no-one mentioned the RRS Universal plate MC-L:

Really Right Stuff - MC-L: Universal L Plate

It seems to have the advantage of not requiring a camera specific plate in addition to the L bracket which would make it less expensive and more universal than the Kirk approach.

Note too the the RRS has the ridge at the back. That makes more sense to me as camera bodies are more likely to be straight on that edge than the subtle curves designed into the fronts.

Also, the Kirk has a single parallel channel and the RRS has multiple perpendicular ones which would probably be more secure.

Anyone using the RRS care to comment on it?

If so, anyone familiar with this model?

Specifically, is it KA mount?

Actually, I do happen to have a MF prime but it didn't occur to me to include that. I figured most potential buyers would want an AF lens. It would certainly offer better optical quality than the zoom. Seems I forgot that those who own Pentax cameras are smarter than those who own other brands. ;)

Interesting . . . I've bought at ebay, but never sold there. Of course we've all heard the horror stories but I suspect they represent a small percentage of transactions.

You may have encouraged me to "just do it"!

I'm about to list my K10D body for sale. I sold the kit lens a while ago and now am wondering if it would be better to get another kit lens (already have one available to me) to include with it or just sell the body separately?

Pro/cons?
