Service was excellent.

Thanks!

Do you know what the turnaround time is for a cleaning?

Less than 2 weeks?

Thanks

Thank you very much for the detailed breakdown.

It turned out to be the batteries.

They turned on the unit but were not fully charged enough to activate the flash.

Thanks again for your assistance.

Still did not work.

Might have to just head over to BH or a local camera store in NJ to get some assistance.

---------- Post added 12-25-17 at 12:10 AM ----------

I am sure it is not broken as it seems to be working fine with the exception of the flash not going off.

---------- Post added 12-25-17 at 12:16 AM ----------

where does "sync" need to be selected as i see i can move it to different options.

---------- Post added 12-25-17 at 12:27 AM ----------

Adam was right, it was the batteries. Even though the flash powered on, I guess it did not have enough juice to activate the flash. Thanks everyone for assistance.

This is a little too technical for my background.

I just want to be able to use the flash on automatic mode when I press the button.

Thanks

It is on P-TTL.

Does it matter what I select for the "Sync".

When I press the "Ready / Test" button it does not fire.

Unfortunately it does not go off.

What should the master mode on the flash be?

What settings do I need to be able to use this flash to go off automatically whenever I take a photo?

I can't seem to figure it out.

Not that technically advanced with this stuff.

This flash is on the K-50.

Thanks

Extended Warranty on K-50

I purchased the extended warranty when I bought my K-50 from BH for an additional $20 to give me a total of 3 years.

I know that with the extended warranty you get a free check-up / cleaning.

How do I go about sending my camera in for this service?

Who do I contact?

Can BH Photo do this?

Thank you.

if you have the 2 year extended warranty, when does the free check up / cleaning expire?

after the 3rd year since the first is what it comes with and then 2 additional so within 3 years right?

thanks

Crumpler Bags

i know that this is a very old thread but i figured i would just comment off this one instead of starting a new one.

crumpler use to be very popular but now if you on their website they seem to venture off into manufacturing a million things.

do they even have a camera bag presence anymore?

thanks

so does this mean when you send you camera body for repair you include the 18-135 lens with it so they can check / clean both?

if you have the extended warranty for the k-50 ($20 ) i know that entitles you to a free check-up / cleaning of the body.

does it also include a check-up of a lens as well?

i could have sworn i read that somewhere the check-up cleaning includes body and lens.

if so, which lens? either the 18-55 or 18-135?

thanks

How do you determine if auto focus is working?

Lately when I am taking pictures (outside, bright light, non moving objects, mainly of people), it does not seem to be that sharp.

This is just in automatic mode using the 18-135 lens.

does anyone have experience with just sending the camera in for a service check up and cleaning from the extended warranty?

---------- Post added 10-10-16 at 07:21 PM ----------

it is too bad that there is only one authorized repair center in america.

there should be many authorized service centers and then you can decide who you would like to use instead of being forced with only one option i think.

$110 for the extended warranty compared to the previous $20 might prevent a lot of buyers to purchase it i would imagine.

i noticed that BH photo does not offer the additional 2 year warranty anymore.

does anyone know why they stopped selling this?

if someone is buying a pentax dslr i would suspect they would buy elsewhere from another company that still does offer the extended warranty.

---------- Post added 10-10-16 at 05:34 PM ----------

just noticed on another thread BH still selling the extended warranty but now for $50!

but then i noticed adorama is still selling the $20 warranty?

kind of confusing.
