Pentax K1-II with DA 560mm Vignetting

No the more you stop down the less you should see it. I think past F8 it was gone but who wants to shoot that high.

I believe Lightroom lens correction did fix most of it.

@Redpit my Canon 600/4 has some at F4 that you only really notice shooting against a bright blue sky and nothing noticeable at 5.6. All of it is fixed with the press of a button in Lightroom

Yes it will vignette some on the K1. I think even stopped down to F8 I used to see some when I had the pair.

Not sure of the conversion rate but 4K just sounds ridiculous for a k70 kit and accessories.

Four months also sounds like a long time for a camera that is not brand new or in high demand.

Canon R5 under development plus 9 news RF lenses in 2020

I had my first bad day with the R5 yesterday. It just struggled to focus with animal eye AF even with a bird in clear blue sky. I switched to zone AF and it couldn't find anything to lock onto then either, I know my 1DX2 would've locked on right away.

Not sure what was going on, hope it's just a one day occurrence will get a chance to go back out Wednesday.

I don’t think the 1200 F8 will be that expensive, nowhere near the price of the EF 1200 F5.6

I used to print lots of 8x10 years ago on my own but all I do now are the metal prints, 16x24 and larger so I send out. I'll use MPIX and Costco for them and kind of like the Costco ones a little more.

I've heard good things about Miller but haven't tried them, I should look into their metal prints also.

Note to self, never buy a used K1 from someasiancameraguy.

Salt water is horrible when it comes to electronics, amazing how little it takes and how fast it will start causing problems.

Sounds like you had nothing to lose trying to fix it yourself but you can see why a repair facility will not want to waste time.

Canon R5 under development plus 9 news RF lenses in 2020

The more I use the R5 the more I’m thinking of trading in my 5dsr and 1DX2 on another. I probably won’t just because the 1DX2 is so good and built so well.

I’ve been looking at a couple RF lenses a lot the past couple weeks, probably good nobody has them in stock now I spent enough money the past month. The 28-70 F2 and the 85 1.2 look so good, I just don’t use those short focal lengths much so it’s hard to spend the money but really would like to have one.

I may do a CPS loan on them after the new year.

bird photography lens recommendation for K-50

I will say you won't be happy with the images from 300mm at that distance from a K50. You will not be able to fill the frame enough and will have to crop and the K50 doesn't have a lot of pixels to throw away in cropping.

CANON closing in on $ony(in Japan)

Long telephotos are not just for shooting long distances where heat haze can be a problem. They are great for filling the frame with smaller animals like small birds.

The R5 is pretty good at high ISO so you don't have to lower the shutter that low and if you do 20fps with the electronic shutter and animal eye AF on you will easily get a keeper in a quick burst.

I won't be replacing my 600 F4 with one of these F11 RF lenses but they are a new and affordable option for people who want to do some birding without having to spend $17,000 and carry bigger equipment. I didn't get it when they announced them but after getting the R5 and seeing reviews of the F11 lenses on the R5 and 6 I get it now. I give Canon credit for thinking outside the box with them, they won't replace the big L primes but will be a great option at a low price for people.

I'm being optimistic for those who will want to buy this and think $1500.

I just didn't see anything on the spec sheet to justify a higher price, unless Ricoh is going to go the way of Leica and Hasselblad and charge a premium for the name.

I picked up the R5 this past weekend and it’s pretty amazing. The autofocus is better than my 1DX2 I think but still need to shoot it some more. It definitely has more coverage with just about the entire frame and the animal eye af is impressive, not perfect but better than anything else I’ve shot.

I’m just using adapted EF lenses now but will not buy another one. I would like to pick up a RF mount lens but will probably wait until after the new year. The 28-70 F2 is tempting but I think the 85 1.2 will be my first.

A lot of the RF L lenses are sold out right now, or at least this past weekend they were.

Picked up the R5 yesterday and took it out this afternoon. Wanted to try out the animal eye AF and found some chipmunks going in and out of the bushes very fast. The eye AF tracked them very good, it's not perfect it did lose them sometimes and a couple times couldn't find them at all but it was in very difficult situations with small fast animals that didn't fill the frame even with a 600mm F4. It definitely tracked better than I could do with my 1DX2, looking forward to try it on larger animals and on bald eagles fishing.

One full frame and one crop shot.

The K1 is a great landscape camera and can produce some amazing images.

All the reasons he mentions for shooting Pentax are kind of true about every brand though. I think Astro tracer is the only thing other brands don’t have.

Wonder if he’s ever used the 645Z? I’ll have to check out some of his other videos.

All their sales numbers are going down but Canon, Nikon and Sony sales numbers are still high enough to be listed under brand name and not in the "other" category.

Yes my EF bodies are dinosaurs now and that's why I plan on picking up a R5 maybe but definitely a R1 when that comes out next year to replace my 5dsr and 1DX2, but all my EF glass will still work with the new mirrorless bodies.

Canon has had a number of people waiting to switch to mirrorless once they got the right bodies out and the R5 and R6 seem to be what they were waiting for. Canons sales numbers will probably bounce up this year if they can make them fast enough. The R5 is sold out everywhere in the US now with people being told maybe middle of November for some people who pre ordered in the summer from B&H.

From my experience it’s just not that good of a lens. I owned it for a couple years before moving on to Canon for my wildlife shooting with a 600 F4 IS II. You can’t compare the two and I’m sure it’s similar to Mortens Nikon 600/4. They are just in another league.

The prices have been coming down thanks to Fuji so I think more people are getting into it now. I bought a 645Z and four used lenses in July.

Seems to be lots of used Pentax lenses on the market now and the prices are so low, maybe lots of people jumping to Fuji and dumping Pentax.

One thing I noticed looking at used lenses from B&H, KEH, Ebay and here is the lots of the lenses are missing lens hoods.

This is the best Pentax lens I owned and on the K1 the image quality was great, but the autofocus is slow. It definitely could use just a motor upgrade.

And Ash the 560 definitely doesn’t have good AF performance.
