ES does not work in Live view mode with Interval shooting setting. This setting is needed for time lapse. When you do so, it triggers mirror for each shot, no mater if your camera is in LV mode or not.

Pentax K1 Time Lapse in Live View Mode

Thank you, Adam.
It looks like I found a better solution.
I have experimented with a wired shutter release in live view mode. It worked, the mirror stayed locked up. So, I just need to buy a wired programmable shutter release similar to this one, program it and that is it.

Just curios , guys , if you have figure out how to make a time lapse in live view mode with Pentax K1.

Such mode allows you to take time lapse shots with locked-up mirror.
Thank you.

I would file the pin (it will still fit the k7 after the mod) , widening an orifice on K3 is riskier...:-)

Topcor UV conversion to K-mount

Thank you, shyrsio.
I was actually very surprised how easy the conversion was.
The Unirex bodies are really cheap, I would rather buy the camera with a lens and after the successful conversion I would have 2 lenses.
Good luck with your project!

Topcor UV conversion to K-mount

Hi Guys,
I hope this post may inspire somebody to do the same.
Does the lens worth of time spent for its conversion. Who knows...as long as it brings fun and satisfaction and differentiation from the others, then why not!?
So, here it is step by step instruction with pictures.
Does it focus to infinity? You may ask. The answer is - Yes, it does and the aperture works too.
I bought a Topcon Unirex with 50/2 lens.

Unscrew the 3 screws, and remove the rings:

Then I filed and cut the base ring to which the UV mount on the Unirex was sit tp make in the way to be inserted inside the K-mount ring, that I took from Rikenon 50/2 lens. Then the UV mount base was attached to the K-mount as below. I think, instead of UV mount base, there could be taken a washer of a proper size. Here it is a look of the UV base ring with the K-mount. It was attached to the K-mount by two screw and glued by superglue.

As long as I took original base ring the UV bayonet was simply screwed to it by 3 original screws.

Then, everything was assembled together.

A couple of pictures:

The closest distance to object is about 60 cm.
As long as I have an adapter I can use the other Topcor UV lenses, like 35, 53, 100, 200 and 400.
If you have questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

The evil work of contract?

I am just thinking how many things you will be able to find when I watch a sunset and/or taking pictures of it....

My point was:
Everything is negotiable, you will not be beaten for your questions, so just put all your questions and areas on the table and come to an agreement with the client.
On the other hand, in such cases client usually proposes a basic or a template contract that exists in their database and usually they are open for additions and changes. If they accept what you propose they will put the right language.

They want to buy your product and your service, and none of you wants to deal with problems and future trials. So, just come to consensus and agree what is allowed and what is not and then find the right language.

Just negotiate with them to simply add one more line to the contract.

The photographer has the right to use the photos for his/her own promotion purpose, like posting on social media, website, blog, etc.

Good luck!

Thank you, StephenH.
Your photo is the best example that demonstrates the issue.

---------- Post added 29-08-17 at 06:27 ----------

Thank you,all for your pictures and participation in the thread.

Lessons:
1. Pentax K1 treats reds in the same way as its predecessors.
2. Reds are tough and require special attention and camera settings (low contract, white balance in cold tones, slight underexposure).
3. The success depends not on the camera but the one who is behind it.

Thank you again and good shots to all of you!

Yes, not only correctly exposed, but also correctly white balanced, and correctly low contrasted.

I love that lens. I have the one too. The question is:Are the colors/reds closr to what you have seen?

Thank you for posting!

Nice pictures. thank you for posting and participating in the discussion!
You are right about the challenge. I went through this in the past and found that pretty interesting and useful in learning the technique.
It does not matter what you are shooting, dark red roses are even tougher than cardinals.:-)

thank you for posting...so the issue is the same...red is tough, even for the K1.

---------- Post added 23-08-17 at 20:25 ----------

Thank you for the picture. it was heavily PPed, it is too far from its original look, I assume, I might be wrong. But even after PPing magenta kills beauty of the colors made by mother nature.
This thread is a tricky one, red is tough.

---------- Post added 23-08-17 at 20:30 ----------

That is correct. I faced with this issue a while ago and was wondering if Pentax was able to fix this in the K1. It looks like that the issue is still there. You are right, red does not like a lot of light and contrast and requires special attention and technique the same as in the other Pentax's model.

Guys, any suggestion what that could be - dust, flare or something else. I did a timelapse during the eclipse with 10sec interval, such "spot" is only on this shot.
Now it is your headache :-).
Thank you

do not use auto focus or at least check where the focus point is/was.
F13 can be a problem too.
