Thanks for all the great tips everyone.
I went with Ilford Delta 3200 in the Pentax MX, with the Pentax SMC 50mm f1.4...
I also dug out a Miranda MS2 Super (Pentax SMC 50mm f1,7), and put some expired Kodak 400TX in there.
I managed to stick to natural lighting only, so there's a fair few that didn't come out well, but I've got some cracking photos back from the lab and somehow my boy Cosmo is still with us so I have a bit more time to try other films!
Don't know what order the pictures will appear, but the the one where he's looking back to the camera is Kodak 400TX, and the one where he's looking down is the Ilford Delta 3200 (shot at 1600).
As ever, tips, feedback and advice is welcome!
Thank you all for helping me get some pictures I'll cherish for the rest of my days.

Thank you all for the advice, its really helpful and much appreciated.
I'll speak to the lab about their developers - not got the room at home to develop it myself yet - but I think I'm going to have to be creative with the lighting!
It'll be an interesting if slightly unwelcome challenge!

Hello,
Looking for some recommendations for a film.
I intend to use most of the film to shoot my cat - all black face, white whiskers and eye brows - it can be hard to capture any detail without a flash but I'm hoping to avoid the flash.
It's winter here in Manchester England, very short days with dark skies most of the time!
Lighting will be whatever natural light there is plus ceiling lights.
He's terminally ill so won't be going outside.
I don't shoot black and white very often but have a few in the fridge...
Kodak 400 TX
Kodak Tmax 100
Kodak BW400CN
Kodak Double X
Ilford XP2 Super 400
Ilford HP5 Plus 400
I've used the BW400CN and Double X before, and had nice results but with much better lighting and different subjects.
The lab I use also stocks Ilford Delta 3200 and Kodak TMax3200.
Am I best buying a 3200? If so which one?
Or should I use the 400 and accept I need flash?
Is there another film I should try to get?
I will be using a Pentax MX with the 50mm f1.4.
I appreciate it's probably a bit subjective but any advice is appreciated, normally I would just try it and see, but time isn't on my side so I'm hoping to get it (mostly) right first time.

Hi, and thanks. It's been a difficult week but there has been such an outpouring of love a new sense of community about the place - we'll come back stronger for sure.
