Thematic Brenizer Method photos

Iíve been looking back at my photos and I think I am getting a clearer understanding of when I should try this method. I think I should have tried it with the the first shot if I wanted a wider view like the 2nd photo but with the blurry background. Am I correct?

When I shot these I was going for the long lens view (pulling the mountains and road closer and bigger) and the wide view of expansiveness. Which is a new understanding for me, meaning I got what I wanted and knew which lenses to use.

Thanks for trying. I know for me, one day I’ll be doing something and then all of a sudden the light will turn on and I’ll know what your talking about :)
Reading thing like this really helps me with my understanding, even if it’s a year later (now I’ll be looking at the Brenizer again, thanks there too )

I tried the toggle and couldn’t see it. It took me a few years to see fringing and even though I know about it, I don’t notice it unless someone points it out to me. Maybe that’s a good thing :)

Thanks for trying, there is so much to learn understand.

Can you point it out to me, I’m not familiar with the term or how it presents. Maybe circle the area I’m supposed to look at. Thanks :)

BruceBanner, Thanks for your feedback and instruction. I really love the concept of this technique and want to get it right (obviously 3 attempts isn’t enough to “see” it correctly). I kept looking at my picture and thinking it’s cute but couldn’t I just get this normally without all the extra frames and stitching. And of course because I had it in my mind I was taking a Brenizer, I thought it’s just not much of one. I’m going to be trying again and again and maybe after a while I’ll “see” what I want to achieve. Right now I’m still not sure exactly how it’s supposed to look, but when I see a great one someone else has done, I know it’s a great look. :)

My first two attempts didnít work, the first time my background was way too complicated for the computer (and myself) to line up the photos correctly, the second one had holes, but the 3rd time I had all the pictures needed and Affinity Photo for IPad could line them all up correctly.
My daughter allowed me the extra time needed to try this technique. Iím hoping I remember to use the technique more often in other locations. :)

Underwater cameras?

I had the Olympus tg-5 and loved it for underwater. It’s not dslr quality but is a fun camera. The menus take a little getting used to.
I broke mine from user error, I forgot to check all the doors and got water in it, but I plan on buying another one before summer.

I have the wg-m2 but I don’t really like the fisheye. My daughter loves the action videos from it. The controls take a little getting used to also, but that’s because I don’t read the manuals before playing with the cameras.

Im interested in the extra costs involved in upgrading also. Did people feel the need to upgrade their computer to handle the bigger files? Or anything else? I don’t think I’d need to upgrade my tripod, but what other things would make the transition better?

I have one and I use it exactly as the website suggests with extension tubes and step-up rings. I find itís fun and creative. Here is one I took with the set-up. I also like to take firework photos with this. I find you need to keep this lens really spotless or the spots show up since you are focusing on the ballís image

I could do the Wednesday the 26th or Saturday the 29th. Anytime on either date. I too can bring lenses for others to try out. I have the 15mm laowa macro shift that others might not have.

If anyone can make it, let me know. I can also drive anyone from southern Maine. Meet at the Saco park and ride

OH NO, I'm not free this weekend, but I'll be shooting - 2 senior portraits. I would love this and I'd drive the 3 hours. I'm not free until November though, unless it's a weekday

I love this lens. I brought it to the beach for the zoom expecting to take pictures of the family building sand castles and swimming and of course the cute sea birds but I didn't know there would be whales feeding off the shore. The close up is cropped from the wider view photo, taken from the shore.

I really like the snail one the best. I find it a challenging lens also, especially since itís fully manual and I have very little experience with manual lenses. Here are my favorites so far. The bronze statues are less than a foot tall and the concrete/stone ones are very large.
