K-3II to be announced soon

Nothing confirmed but it's been made pretty clear it'll be the new Sony 24mp sensor (likely in the D7200) which has very good IQ. Hopefully Milbeaut M8-M (PRIME IV?) as the processor.

I'd love if they move the movie mode switch to around the record-start button (like Canon kind of, but mirror the current switch style), and replace it with a joy stick to change focus points. I like the current K-3 AF button location. I don't expect it on the II but I can dream.

I say new sensor and maybe updated pipeline, maybe new processer (or dual PRIME IIIs). Perhaps a boost to the SR, and almost certainly some improvement to the AF.

Thank you, however I managed to guess that was the problem and fix it before seeing this! 33 seconds works perfectly. Again, thank you for the help!

Okay so I think this deserves its own comment instead of another edit. It might be my card but the camera needed a rest period after the 30" (yes slow shutter NR is off) and so the delay needed to be set to 33" to get consecutive releases.

Hey there. I'm looking to do star trails with my K-5II, and although I know what to do from a technical perspective, the interval shooting settings are confusing me. When I set a shutter speed of 30", I should set the interval time to 31", yet for me this is resulting in a 31" delay, AND lost images (after one image, 997 left, over 1 sec delay); setting the delay to 1" just results in lots of lost images. Can anyone help me figure this out?

Edit: FURTHERING THE MYSTERY: This only happens at 30", every other time worked. Kind of sounds like a firmware issue.

Shot with a single flash against a black background.

I got bored one day and thought it'd be fun to play around with my lighter.

I built a new computer, mostly because I could, but also in hopes of a K-3 set up. Of course, mine can also easily edit D800E files while playing a fairly taxing game soo....

Tech specs, in case anyone was wondering:
i7 4770k - 3.5ghz (overclockable because why not)
16gb DDR3 RAM
AMD Radeon HD 7800 series
250GB SSD
2x 3TB HDD (Storage space is cheap)

I feel like one of the only ones who DOESN'T want an EVF. Better electronic overlay in a larger viewfinder (100% in a 1.00x viewfinder?) and a better flash system (in body wireless control and 1/250th sync please?) however, that would be great.

As for the "hump", I would like the to be GPS, and under the flap is just the on/off button, with the flap there so it can't be pressed accidentally. Wifi capability would be very nice for tethering. I think the AF mode button is going to be good, especially if you can cycle through the AF point modes, and AF-S and different tracking modes. Hopefully the tracking AF is much improved too!

Honestly, I hope it's a larger prism. While I can see it being useful sometimes, I think it'd be too difficult to get great weather sealing with it. It is doable, but I'd rather the larger prism.

Here's to hoping for that 1/250th (or faster ;) ) sync speed, and better TTL for flash!

I already have a K-5II, but I have been considering adding a second body...

In this case, the K-5II would become that second body!

I don't know about the camera shows, but I've used the K-5II at ISO 6400 and even higher when it's become necessary, and never really had a problem with the noise. (granted, there definitely is some, but I wouldn't call it "unacceptable")

Trouble with my K-5II

So, I'm having some issues with my K-5II with the DA18-135 attached. When the camera is pointed downwards, it can't seem to read the aperture from the lens, but it's fine when pointed straight or up. The problem also occurs if the camera is whipped upwards quickly (as in, from my side to my eye). However, the problem doesn't seem to occur with the third party grip attached. Except the grip doesn't work as a shutter release, or to transfer power any more, and the tripod mount is broken.

On top of this the camera doesn't seem to know when the battery grip has been disconnected, still giving me the option to select "grip first" in the battery menu even when no grip is attached.

I personally enjoy the K-5's placement of the green button; for me it falls right under my thumb when I'm using the rear wheel. I would like the AF-on button to the left of the thumb wheel slightly, and the current AF-on button replaced with a selector stick thing, especially if the newer models have more AF points. And when the AF dial is set to the center position or auto the thumbstick gets retracted.
