I went for Sigma 35mm Art that is used only or mostly for photographing the paintings... It is used on APS-C camera.
It is not a macro lens but it serves the purpose very well.

What those two guys said is right.

You have to use BULB mode and calculate your exposure. First you note the values the camera is metering or take one regular shot and note shutter speed and f-stop, then use App to determine the correct time for exposure. Set the f-stop and then use your cellphone timer to expose for correct time from the app. They are many apps available and feel free to experiment with.

Also make sure that you pre-focus prior mounting ND filter and switch to MF (manual focus) prior taking the exposure to avoid camera attempt to focus again. You can use 2-sec delayed shutter or cable release or whatever release you are using.

Have fun!

EDIT: It is also helpful to set that camera is opening the shutter with one click on the remote and closes the shutter with second click on IR remote.

medium format lenses on crop-sensor body ?

I used medium format Mamiya lenses on K-3 and K-5... There is no problem with using it and they behave same as M42 lens. You have to use green button for metering or use manual mode without metering if your are comfortable with. Personally I always use manual mode and sometimes use green button if I am not sure what shutter speed to use but mostly I am right there with guessing. Fotodiox make some quality adapters...

I like using those medium format lenses as they have specific rendering that I like and they fairly compact.

some example's:

I meant RAM memory as the LR + PS using this first and then "swap" however if files are too big to be stored into RAM first then you will get the message "run out of memory" files cannot be saved or something like that. I had on my old PC 256GB SSD and additional 1TB HD with 8GB of RAM and I run always out of memory with big files. Also I had GPU with 3GB of RAM as well, I think... do not remember exactly how much RAM memory GPU was having.

Soon I will update also my current PC with new GPU or all internals except SSD and storage drive but will do slowly, first new GPU and then later the rest while one stick of RAM is broken and I am down to 16GB from 32GB of RAM...

Depending on with which files you are working with. I had run into issue with K-3 files when I tried to stitch pano images with 6 images and it run out of memory (had different PC with 8GB RAM). While you are having KP and K-1 as long as you do not have multiple layers (K-1 files) open in PS you might get away with 8GB but as long as you start to mask and blend then it will run out of memory most of the time. With K-1 files to keep LR + PS open it will be not easy however with KP files sometimes will work and sometimes not, also depending on how process your files.

I do not have NUC unit but my back-up PC is this:

with i5-4570T, 16GB RAM and 128GB ADATA SSD

Latest LR + PS runs perfectly on this and I use portable 2TB hard drive (WD NAS) to store raw and PP images.

Your biggest concern it will be RAM memory...

Repair K-3 Silver or buy a K-3ii? (or upgrade to K-1?)

Get a K-1 or K-1II and use the K-3 silver body in Manual Mode... It is very easy, after some accommodation time, to use Manual Mode. You can even dedicate that body to use only with M42 lenses and shoot pure manual mode.

For sure you will have fun shooting Manual Mode and will even strengthen your photography skills.

Only you can make that decision.

DA 35mm Macro Ltd and Lee filters.

I think that Lee Filters refers to incompatibility issue when lens is focused close by that you might have vignetting or corners of the filter might be visible and you have to look for wide angle adapter but also then there might be some issues with corners... I did have that issue with Cookin Filters system on some lenses.

I have recently got Nisi Filter (10-stop) in 67mm but slim one that have to be screwed and did check all lenses with it. Currently I looking into placing order for Nisi ND 6-stop and CPL in 77mm size as some lenses I have are using those size filter and gave up on using square ones as to buy them is very expensive. If I ever decide to buy square filters then I will go again for Nisi or Winecountry Camera filter system...

Good luck!

Upgrading: K3 or?

If I were in your shoes I will go for K-3... The camera can be had for around 500-600CAD easily and then save the money for the K-1. Also after you get K-3, sell K-50 and this even will push price of the K-3 more down. Invest the rest of the money in full frame lenses and start saving for K-1. That will be my 2c.

I use K-3 and will start soon to save for K-1 or maybe new FF camera from Pentax. I never had regrets buying K-3 and really like what camera had to offer at time of purchase. Also if you buy batteries for K-3 they will fit in K-1 later...

Xpro-P TTL Wireless Flash Trigger for Pentax

This is why I was excited about Godox... AD200 + AD600B and maybe later another AD200 is all what I need. Those models are powerful (AD200 3x more power than regular flash) and also to mix them later with some of the Godox regular flashes and to be controlled with one trigger without a need to have another receiver is a big plus for myself. To have HSS was only what I need but P-TTL is just a bonus.

I almost pulled the trigger on Cactus but still was hesitant when I read about Godox... I have pre-ordered already the trigger and will buy AD200 very soon or as long as trigger arrives as it is in stock at local retailer.
I think that Cactus did not failed however also it did as they too slow to get into market with larger strobes and to integrate receivers into those... Just my 2c.

Head shots - around 200mm
Portrait - 105 or 135mm
Half body - around 80mm (70, 77 or 85mm)
Full body - 50mm
Small group - 35mm
Larger group - 28mm (24mm for bigger groups)

In regards of lenses I prefer for portrait manual focus when working with adults but for kids you got to have auto focus. I used a lot when I was shooting professionally Zeiss lenses, as they have very nice micro contrast.
Now that I just doing it as a hobby anything fast with above mentioned focal lengths will do.

My mostly used lenses now are Sigma 35mm 1.4, Sigma 50mm 1.4 and Sigma 70mm 2.8 and some old manual focus primes in 135mm and 200mm.

Xpro-P TTL Wireless Flash Trigger for Pentax

I want that trriger mainly for HSS and not for p-ttl. Trriger controls also the power manually, same as my YN560-tx. Also the Godox has much bigger assortment of flashes and strobes that can be controlled with same trriger. AD200 has anyway twice the power (or more) of Yongnuo flashes. Afterwards I just need big strobe and I am set and portable.

Placed an order today at Henry's. They do not know when it will arrive. They think 2-3 weeks... Let see. Next purchase is AD200 and after the big strobe. Have to sell my Yongnuo kit after trigger arrives.
