g'day Gordon
(and also nickthetasmaniac).

I was wondering if you guys (or any other Aussies here), has any experience with Nagami Cameras in Melbourne.

Also good to know about f16 in Brisbane.

I've got a couple of old AF lenses that need cleaning up, but not sure which might ok to handle AF lenses.

hey guys, thank you all for the suggestions.

i have no idea what went right thereafter, but now, it works.

First, rechecked that it is 1/200 (it was, even before that).

Then, tried an old AF500FTZ on the cam and it worked fine.

Then, mounted the AF160FC and also took note of this "the foot of the flash is smaller and may need to be slide back a little to make contact properly"

And hey, it worked!

Thank you all!

Now, on to explore using this ring flash.

hi everyone.

Hoping any users of the AF160FC could assist to 'untangle' a problem.

Am encountering some problems with using the AF160FC with the K-1, and have no idea what might be causing it.

was trying to use the AF160FC with the K-1 and doesn't matter what settings or whatever mode been used, the flash just will not fire.

The flash itself works (cuz after putting in batteries, tested it and it does work.

But mounted on the camera, whatever was tried, the flash just will not fire.
Putting the camera to M or X mode, no difference
The flash just won't fire.

Hope any users of AF160FC can enlighten.

Thanks much!

MZ-S.......can they be repaired????

yeap. Go for the brass part if possible, and engage Asahi Brentford to do the necessary.

Much better than using the nylon part.
And likely will last you a couple hundred rolls of film, bare minimum.

And now i am thinking ... Should i do that as well ..... Then i can stop this at back of mind when i use the MZ-S .... About mirror-up

it will be great if Asahi Photo in Brentford could address MZ-S mirror-up.
Then, there be at least one more place that could sort this problem.

Definitely more. Just that perhaps a good number of those who encountered this problem, didnt come online here to share.

Where i am, there's already three MZ-S that were hit by this 'mirror-up' problem.
Two were sent to Tekunos for repair.
One, the owner undecided, whether to repair or just forget about it.

And it isnt just some MZ-S that got hit by this problem.
MZ-3s are also prone to this problem.

That said, as i shared with the OP separately, there's not really any point to think or worry about it.

Just go out and shoot, enjoy the MZ-S for what it is.

If it happens, it happens.
And yes, there is no guarantee that it will happen.

My own MZ-S serial number 4xxxxx, but i have put about 60 rolls of film thru it, still going fine.

If it can last another 30-40 rolls before 'mirror-up', i will be more than happy. And will have to decide, repair, or forget it.

i actually recommended the 150-450 to two other persons that i know will love the image quality that lens is capable of.

But i also told them about that few reported cases (on this forum), of how the lens just separated into two just like that.

This is so that they are fully aware of the existence of this problem with some of the 150-450 and go into it with full knowledge of this.

---------- Post added 12-31-19 at 05:00 PM ----------

Just to share as well.

My 150-450 serial number 4582571

So far, no signs of any sort of problem with it.

(I do avoid zooming it very fast etc cuz recall reading somewhere else in this forum, some of the 150-450, when zooming it fast, became "stuck")

ultimate horror, for something like that to happen.

This happened on the 150-450, think there's already been 3 to 4 known cases (at least on this forum).

Does any member know whether such a thing or somewhat similar happened to any other DFA or DA lenses?

And what serial number of the 150-450 do you guys have?

am just curious.

Here on forum itself, how many cases there been, on the 150-450 separating into two?

I recall there being at least 3 to 4 known cases on forum itself (including mr fox's).

This thing is haunting me nonstop actually.
I have this fear all the time i am using the 150-450, that it will just separate into two.

Sigh. this seriously is very bad.
And all this thing about the very lengthy repair times .....
This is just sad.

Just realised that A330-'62', in the photo in this news report, is the '62' i snapped days ago (see below).
