Not worth a damn and not getting any better....short answer.:( More limited in my activity every day.......Still, I hang in there as long as possible. Lots of things to get done.....not a lot of time to get them done.

Regards!:)

Funny....sort of...my world is collapsing but I still enjoy getting a decent squirrel shot....;):D

Looking at that on Flickr in the large size, it looks excellent. You would have a hard time getting any other lens to do better. Very clear, sharp and wonderful natural colors! :D

A big bag of pigskins and a bottle of Tabasco is a great combination for some mighty fine eating! For watching Monday night football, it even beats vanilla ice cream and cherry fried pies.:D

The poor guy had a defective or missing gene...the "Selective Hearing" gene. Without it most of us would be looking for some place to hide too. I bet half of what Mrs Rupert has said in the past almost 52 years I never heard. It can be dangerous though....they figure this out and claim you agreed to this or that when you don't recall ever even hearing about it......That's how I ended up driving 5400 miles on that Oregon trip.......She said, "You promised...remember?" Yep, I probably did say OK to something I never even heard just to shut her up......You guys ever do that?

Regards!:)

Just that statement alone shows that you will never have a clue. There are mysteries that can never be solved.....that is perhaps the biggest of all. ;)

Yep, how many times do we come so close to death and realize it.......compared to how many times we come even closer to death and don't?

Got a Rupert story like that...so damn close and I didn't realize it....and then I did.....it will open your eyes when that happens...and you won't need a pacemaker, your heart will race like crazy!

No bacon/sausage and eggs with waffles this morning.....Mrs Rupert was running late for Church so I had cereal with bananas. With the new adjustable bed/frame/mattress/remote control.....sleeping hard and fast...and over sleeping! Spent all day Friday with my helper Kat putting it all together and modifying the bedroom platform where it goes. In my better days a two hour job...at most. Had to stop every few minutes for a dose of oxygen and to catch my breath:(....but the bottom line is we 'got 'er done"!:D

Coal oil ......often called kerosene. Are Coal Oil and Kerosene Oil the Same Thing? | Bumgarner Oil

When I was a kid my aunt Bessie kept several gallons of coal oil on hand for medicinal purposes. It had a very similar, but slightly different smell than kerosene, and supposedly had miracle curative powers. When I was 13 and visiting my uncle and aunt Bessie on their farm, I went swimming on the river at the "old blue hole". Got snake bit when I jumped in from a big overhanging rock without looking first and landed on a watermoccasin/cottonmouth. It was a half mile back up to the farm house and my ankle/leg was badly swollen by the time I got back there. Bessie got out a 5 gallon bucket and filled it half full of coal oil......I sat in a chair and soaked it all day and half the night. Turned black and blue.....was swollen twice its size and hurt like hell....nausea and hot/cold flashes....dizziness and headache.......even peed in my pants a time or two....but I got over it in a couple of days with only a reminder from the blackness that remained for weeks. Coal oil...keep some handy!:D

I just didn't want to conjure up images of a naked Rupert shooting away with his K1 & Bigma. Squirrels would deem that totally inappropriate!

Maybe it was the loaded pickles that I sent you that made you light headed?

Thanks a ton...I can always use the prayers......we all can. :):)

I know you guys are all with me, and have been, and my appreciation is beyond my capability for words. :):)

You know what they say..."Life is a beach and then you die".......or something like that? Hey guys, they are not kidding us! For however long I can continue to function in a reasonable manner, I will be here to take advantage of the vast wealth of knowledge this thread has to offer.......rotary engines in a tank...where the hell else are you going to learn stuff like that! ;)

No use in getting all grim faced and negative....I am not facing anything billions of others have not already faced...and what everyone else here will surely face too. Life is full of reality...some of it we would rather deny, but in the end that is not possible.

Best Regards!:)

Be careful!:D I started out shooting a few from my home office windows then progressed to shooting 90% of everything from them. There is something habit forming about being in air conditioned comfort, a cold drink or a hot cup of coffee, maybe a little snack handy, and looking out to see what you can shoot next. You can even sit there and shoot half naked....the animals looking in don't really care....excepting the squirrels will laugh at you.

99% of these K1 shots were shot through my office windows....some are half decent!;)

Hard to catch them in flight...you need speed and light, and I seldom get both at the right time.

Jumper is the jumpingest squirrel I have ever seen and I've seen plenty of squirrels. He delights in jumping from place to place and can jump great distances. I guess he gets a thrill out of it?

He is also a happy little guy...always glad to be alive!

Done a lot of drilling myself...never an airplane, but I have drilled some of the finest quality holes on earth. If you have the proper dill bit, and know how to use it, you can always get some drilling action. Beware....it is habit forming.....and addictive!:D;)

Got to thinkin'...many years ago I did do some drilling in an airplane at about 30K feet....I just wanted to correct that so I could maintain my "Honest Rupert" profile here.;)

Ever watch that program..."My 600 Pound Life"? You can watch them eat a dozen eggs, a pound (or more) of bacon, half a loaf of toasted bread and a pound of hash brown potatoes washed down by a half gallon of whole milk. Yet when facing the doctor over their weight gain that should have been a loss, they are in total denial that they overeat. A sickness, an addiction that is deadly. Most of us are susceptible to some sort of addictive action, usually much less harmful. Mrs Rupert craves Dr Peppers......must always have a supply at home.

There are undoubtedly deep psychological reasons for most severe addictions, probably difficult or impossible to pinpoint with exactness....others are just the result of repetitive bad actions that go from habit to addiction.

Of course, these are just my observations, I am no trained expert......but it sounds logical...you think????:D My youngest son has a Masters degree in psychology and is about to get a Doc Degree.........I can tell you I know more about it than he does...no kidding.

Regards!:)
