Seriously looking at Fuji X options

I own both a Fuji X-T2 and X-T1, and previously a X-100S. All three were easily capable of getting 300 images. The newer X-T2 can make 375 or so using the newer updated battery. I use both OEM and cheaply wasabi batteries and they all last about the same number of shots. I use the "eye sensor" mode on the eve almost exclusively. The image sharpness and film simulations are nothing short of fantastic imho, ymmv

YAY!!! Our border guards are doing their job! As a nation, we don't want handguns being brought into Canada.
On another note, as a Canadian who crosses the US border a few times per year, I rarely get hassled, perhaps because I have a Nexus Pass which meant I submitted to an FBI check, fingerprinted and iris scanned. One of my kids used to travel to the US for meditation retreats, mainly in SoCal, and was almost always dragged in for "questioning". I guess some guards are nervous shaven head, peace loving Buddhists.

Item for Sale
Pentax D-FA 100mm f2.8 WR

Asking Price
375.00 USD

Item Location
Niagara (United States)

Item Description
I am selling my very lightly used macro lens. Lens is in excellent condition and it would be hard to tell it was used at all. Comes with box, pouch, front and rear caps. I am shooting mostly on my Fuji equipment now and this lens does not have an aperture ring so doing macro via an adapter is pretty much useless for macro photography. I am slowly selling off my DA collection, only keeping my FA lenses for my Pentax 35mm film cameras and my 645.

Pentax 645 to Fuji / Hasselblad? Anyone considering the switch?

Well, funnily, my lens was out of warranty by 6 months and the last call from Fuji was to confirm where to send my camera and lens back to, office or home. When I rec'd the package(the next day via courier), the enclosed paperwork was marked "OUT OF WARRANTY, Courtesy Service...no charge. I think the numerous calls were to build a case to fix it free. I am impressed.

I have had good service from Pentax Canada in regards to CLA work on my various Pentax cameras, but definitely NOT the level of service I am getting from Fuji Canada. I had to take in my X-T2 and 23mm f1.4 lens late last week as the lens became stuck on. I have received 3 calls from Fuji inside service rep discussing the progress of the repair and to discuss the reasons for the problem. Turns out it was a loose mounting screw on the lens and they are going to cover the service under warranty. 3 calls! That's service.

You need an old Takumar 135 f2.5 or 3.5. Amazing for portraits, a little long but super nice on full frame. There is of course the FA77mm Ltd, autofocus, amazing rendering, just costs $600 plus.

I use a cheapo Kipon PK/DA-FX adapter that I purchased on eBay for CDN$25 . Works perfectly. It also has aperture adjustment ring in the event you use a PK lens without an aperture ring of it's own.

if you can, take the lens back and try another 24-70, you may just have a poorly aligned lens. Just fyi, you should post some sample images that you are unhappy with along with the metadata.

I am fairly certain that your 645N II has auto focus capabilities and so does the lens you mention. It is a newer design, is auto focus, and has an aperture ring. I shoot the older 645 that is manual focus only and it works fine with the 45-85mm D-FA lens, manual focus of course.

I don't think the problem is with LR. The b&w setting is for jpeg only I believe. If you shoot RAW, you will see the b&w jpeg on the cameras LCD but the RAW file contains all the colour information.Try shooting only jpeg, use the b&w setting and see if that works for you.

the Fuji X-PRO2 and X-T1 actually go to 1/32000th of a second with it's electronic shutter(1/8000th mechanical for X-PRO2, 1/4000th X-T1)

Yes you do. In fact, I use 1/16000th on my Fuji for 56mm f1.2 images in sunlight

I just recently purchased an Epson V600 as a refurb from Epson for CDN $145. It's my first time using a scanner and honestly, the results are fantastic and learning how was very easy. I am scanning mostly 120 Fuji PRO400 H and some Tri X & Delta Pro 100. I suggest you look at the Epson site for a refurb. YMMV

---------- Post added 04-14-16 at 11:09 AM ----------

Oh, I just checked Epson store and they have another V600 available for $145 CDN and a V550 for $120 CDN
