Well said @Texandrews ! I like too your definition : " Different animals" ... for the same reasons FA Limited series
don't need automatic diagphram control (!) or a Sdm motor (!) or the absence of ring aperture values (!) or, certainly, to be superfast (!)...
Welcome to a new coating, welcome to WR ...other aspects aren't in their essence...
[The link to "Xigma20_f1.4" was provocative...]
Who knows what Mr. Jun Hirakawa would think ...😉
From the pictures seems, sadly, that this new 21ltd is bigger than "old" 31 ...
Edit:
[Walter Woeltche/Walter Mandler docet];
regarding the optical scheme ... , and in a serious constructive criticism, has the computerized asymmetric design reduced effectively the distance from the distinguishing feature of symmetrical wide-angles (Biogon, SuperAngulon...) ? ... I'm very interested to see what people, here, say ...
Best regards,
Ben-G

... or like f1.7 😁... a little faster than 31mmLtd
The real limited are FA LIMITED :
31 >> f1.8
43 >> f1.9
77 >> f1.8

@angerdan,
Yes, i'm italian, I know very well Marco Cavina works and i'm an "old" (sic!) pentaxian, ... that i've posted is "an image of hope" 😊😉
I would still be happy if this new FA 21mm Limited were as fast as the FA 31mm Ltd ( and with an extraordinary soft manual aperture ring ! ... ).
Best regards from Italy!

Yes i think the same: it's a very sad thing the loss of aperture ring ...
I hope that they will not reduce the aperture to f2.8 ... |

@gatorguy ... again ?! ...
"Any harm to my camera..."?
... sincerely this is not my case ...
"my K-1" is not mine, "my K-1" is your camera, is the camera of all of US that love PENTAX ...
@gatorgui, the word "SILLY" is offensive ...
Please, sincerely, ... STOP ! ....

Obviously ! Who don't know that "The most recent update will include all the prior fixes..."
I know it (!), but i'm not interested in other updates than 1.43 because i use my K1 only for my SMC Fa Limiteds ...
Other upgrades essentialy were done, such as described by RICOH, for new Hd fa star 50mm & 85, I don't want instructions on camera for lenses that I don't use ...
@gatorgui : is my request of this old update file firmware to other
Users in this forum a legit request ?
Or, if you prefer, an illogic / absurde request ?
"SHOULD YOU USE..." or simply "i could use..."? Or "why don't you prefer to use ... ?"
noblesse oblige,
Ben-G
Ps. : Yes, i SHOULD follow the Stephen Obermeier way ...

... and we are waiting a little for another marvellous SMC Fa Limited lens :
a georgous 21mm with an aperture ring, a godronated ring focus and a terrific optical Biogon scheme !!!
Best regards from Italy!

#1 i've already the K-1, exclusively acquired for the ltd "three amigos";
#2 yes (even though I have the only necessary FA LIMITED lenses);
#3 relative ... ;
#4 Digital Camera/Lenses with their failures of automatic electronic control of diaphragm and autofocus motors ( sdm, plm, ...) are fixed expenditures, not an investment ;
#5 I don’t need it even i thought that, for Pentax, are absolute necessary production against apsc mirrorless of other brands... ;
6# I want a digital Pentax 67 with a no-bayer sensor and also a crop-mode for ff lenses ... and even the choice between a colours and a monochrome version ;
#7 not only for the climate change : better a cycle !
#8 idem : "I have a nice printer that will print as large as I want - but I don't print that often." ;
#9 "j'adore" OVF !!! ... and i think that, just now, is a great strategic choice for industrial production of cameras... and this is not a paradox.
"Death to EVF"? No.. i prefer to say:
" LONG LIFE TO THE OPTICAL VIEWFINDER !!!" ;
#10 No, ... for now; but apart this obviously subjective position and in any case, as Mies van der Rohe said :
Less is more

Marvellous shot ... i'm really fascinated by colours and composition.
" The unexpected colours of life"
... could be the title of a best seller with this great image as cover. Who writes the plot of the novel ?
😉

par même :
"what if Pentax gives us a k-1 style camera that can take digital 6x7 images ?"
A fabulous Pentax 67 III with a new Foveon sensor of 100 Mpx ...
What else ?
😉

SOLVED !!!
The lubricant, this night, has done his work.
Now the push button is free (!!!), i've dropped it, at the first, with alcohol denat with a dental floss, then with abundant and directly sprayed Arexon lubricant "Svitol" leaving it, for twelve ours, in vertical position second the axis of pin-hole and laid on a folded sheet of absorbent paper.
On the paper today some yellowish traces ... probably dirty solidified grease, now the push button is free, fluent; i can even rotate it, and present a very light resistance to the pressure and operates a fluent action of the lever inside the adapter.
Luckely no rust (!) ... it's amazing how few invisible dirt blocked the push button axis, ... such as welded !
Thanks also to the valuable assistance of Giorgio Melgrati.
Thanks again very much to the valuable suggestions of "hyyz"!
Best regards from Italy,
Ben

... damn(!), i can't resolve...
The push-button is welded ... seems to have, internal/external, a different cross section dimension ... internal is bigger and concentric ...solidified grease? rusty?... alcohol denat drops failed...
Uhm... tomorrow is another day!
Good night from Italy,
Ben
