Getting closer, but after the 20ºC increase in temperature since the last week it's still -2.6º C [27.3º F]. Admittedly, that's warmer than Texas this week ...

No argument there. That's an enticing view, well taken. ---------- Post added 2021-02-17 at 11:36 ----------
That *almost* convinces me to head out into the frigid white yonder to try a pano of my own.

I bought my K10D in a package with *16-50, *50-125 and grip. I later bought a DA 12-24 and DA55-300. I already owned an M400/5.6, an AFA 1.7x and a Takumer 55/1.8.
I have even hand held the M400+1.7x (briefly; I am 80). I find the rig is much better balanced with the grip and the grip controls are handy when shooting verticals. The slight extra weight added to the combination I really don't notice; although everyone else comments.

Turning off the $%^Y& light is perfect. My aged Tundra every now and then pops up a Check Engine light referring to the fuel vapour canister. For several hundred dollars to replace the whole government required system vs. turning off the code ...

The cost of a decent OBDII reader is almost exactly the same as the cost for the garage to read it. The most common errors are emissions related, and often are simply that the gas filler cap is not tight. If that is the case, turn the air blue for the lazy attendant, tighten the cap and reset the warning with the reader.

One year's license and insurance for the Tundra. C$1,020. $1,000,000 liability, Comprehensive, $500 deductible, Roadstar (replacement drivers, etc)

I have the AFA 1.7x. I use it with my M400 and my 100 macro. It is a very good 1.7x converter, and will fine tune focus. It won't make the lens AF, but it can do the last little bit of focus for you if your base lens is f/2.8 or faster. I should really try it with a fast normal and see how much focusing it will do, but I don't own a fast normal other than my Tak 55/1.8.
Hmmm Pentax M42>K adapter on AFA 1.7x????

Ken, as with above, I prefer the bird or animal in its habitat. Your birds are fabulous and I am always amazed at the colourful variety you have.
