Beautiful landscapes Titia. The light is amazing, especially in that second shot. Looks like one can just walk across the border at will. I want to visit. My roots are Dutch, but long ago.

I chose three places I would normally be in the summer, and I miss them all.

First is from Toulouse, France, and one of my very favorite places, the Couvent des Jacobins. That is the tomb of Aquinas, moved there in the 14th c. as I remember.

The second is from the Guggenheim Museum in NYC, one of my favorites for the architecture and the exhibits. I miss it dearly!

Third is from Schoodic Point in Maine, also a place I would be at some point in the summer and love dearly.

This year is a skip for all three. All are iPhone photos and I think all with the X.

Oh my, do I love this. Color, immediacy and then the decay--and then that clamp (?) ready to work. That says nothing about the composition! It is one of those, What am I looking at? photos, executed so well. Love the color, too. Glad you came back to it! Love this!

I was thinking of the relation of vertical and horizontal that is a stair, and how this is essential to the structure of a tree. Maybe that's a bit too abstract, lol. I was looking up the stair as you would look up a tree.

I do counts for Audubon and settled on 8x30 Leica Ultravids a few years ago and love them. At the time you could get them 'certified pre-owned' at a good price reduction. There are so many factors that go into binocular choice. I tend to go for the x30s for small size, light weight, ergonomics and wide field of view. They are easy to hold one-handed. They are also bright for x30's, too, but not the best for eye glasses. Top of the line binoculars have gotten insanely expensive.
