I found a similar issue with my Samsung S7.
Once I manually connected to the K-70 from the phones wifi and then opened the Image Synk app and it worked for me

I opened the box and plugged it into my K-70 and it worked straight out of the box without changing anything.
I recommend this switch as a cheap replacement for the cs-310.

I like the idea of using my mobile phone.. I was planning on using the K-70 to take test shots before hand to evaluate the light. Awesome idea - cheers. I am contemplating buying a light meter in future.

I have managed to give the K1000 a little clean up and it looks good through the viewfinder and inside.

I have decided 1 roll of film for the ES and another for the K1000. I have 10 difgerent M42 lenses to choose from and over 30 K mount lenses to use so I wont be using any adapters this time round.

I was thinking just use the 3rd roll in the MZ-60 to see how it turns out but have decided to wait and see how the first 2 rolls turn out. I have now changed my mind.

I have a local store that has plenty of film to buy and they will do the processing so I wont miss future opportunity to use either camera.

Great advice from everyone - Thank you.

The ES it will be :-)

Looking at the k1000, I was assuming it to be the oldest in my collection. Probably is just that is the most used - IDK.
All the other cameras I bought are in great condition and will hopefully all work without drama but I wont know till I give it a go.

Your assumption was correct with the lenses. I have plenty of old lenses to use.

The MZ camera does not seem to have any issues with the mirror yet.

The "old" way of doing things is exactly why I want to use film and test my skills.

Cheers for the advice.

Once I develop the film, I will post some results on this forum.

So I have come up with a personal dilemma and I find myself wondering which camera to use...

I have been shooting with digital Pentax SLR's for a few years now and during that time I have collected a few Pentax film SLR cameras.

I have decided to buy 3 rolls of film (Fujifilm Superia Premium ISO400, 36 shots) because I want to do some film photgraphy for the first time since I was about 10 years old shooting with a very cheap camera from a show bag.

I really should thank whoever sold me the show bag as it got me interested in photgraphy - just took me around 30 or so years to follow up with that desire lol.

I now have a Pentax Z-10, a Pentax MZ-60, a Pentax ES and a k1000 (which I cant really use until I get the sensor cleaned). Apart from the k1000, the cameras are in awesome condition.

I would like to know people's opinions before I use my film in any of the cameras. Is it worth having the k1000 cleaned to use it first? Are the others worth using seeing that they are in good working condition?

I have been trying to decide now for about a week and am getting anxious to use the film.

Any/all advice is welcome and thanks for your time reading and responding.

After using my k70 for some months now, I love using the 10-17 fisheye lens which I find to be super sharp and great value for money.

With 32 different lenses atm, I would recommend any in my backpack (listed below in my signature) as being a great lens. There are many more lenses that would be suitable - I guess it depends if you want primes, zooms or a mix for your photgraphy.

I have mostly concentrated on WR lenses for my backpack for travel.

Dont feel intimidated by your Pentax K-x camera.
It is a fantastic camera to learn with.
Because it is a digital camera, you never need to develop the film so you can make as many mistakes as you like. Learning happens with mistakes.

I started learning photgraphy from my K-x. I strongly recommend learning the photgraphy triangle as this was the biggest step in my photgraphy skills.

Google quote :-
"The exposure triangle is simply the relationship between your ISO, shutter speed and aperture. These three components work together to create an actual exposure or photograph. It is referred to as the exposure triangle because when you adjust one element, another element MUST change to capture the same exposure"

I recommend using aperture priority mode for starters and switching to shutter priority after that to learn.
Then try your hand at manual mode.

This helped me immensely. Hope this helps you.

Welcome to the forum and I look forward to seeing some of your photos in the future.

How did Pentax Alienate Retailers?

I personally have bought lenses etc from Japan via eBay as the postage is usually around $15 or $20 to Australia.
Buying the same item from USA usually has $75-$150 in postage costs to Australia.
Obviously the postage sometimes being more than the item, USA to Australia is very rarely a viable option for myself.

I usually see roughly around the same amount of Pentax items available on eBay from either country.

I don't know if that makes a difference.

This website helped me choose my original K-x.
This website also helped me choose the K-70 over the KP but everyone's choice is their own.
I strongly recommend using a comparison site like the one above to help aid your decision.

I have 1 camera store in my local town and they supply Pentax online only whilst Sony, nikon, cannon and fuji all have their own display cabinets in store.
Apparently their Pentax suppliers are too expensive to keep stock on hand.
I travel 1 hour down the road to Melbourne and I can buy 2nd hand Pentax lenses from a few stores.
I am yet to find a shop anywhere that has Pentax items in the window.
When I win the lotto, I will start a Pentax shop in Melbourne.

Walking the streets of Melbourne Australia lately (the last 12 months or so) at least every second weekend and I see lots of Cannon and Nikon.. I am yet to see another Pentax user walking around snapping pics ever. This is sad to me as I do my bit for advertising for Pentax via word of mouth.
I make a point of walking over to other photographers and asking which brand they use and to point out that I am a Pentax user... .. Most people reply with something like "Oh Pentax are good".
I also see more and more people using cell phones rather than dslr/mirrorless. I even saw a person using a gimble with a mobile phone today which I thought to be a bit funny looking. I even saw 2 Leica users today. I thought they were the rare ones tbh.
I will keep searching for more Pentax users.
