Weekly Challenge Weekly Challenge #448 - A matter of perspective

I hope this also qualifies. This “matter of perspective” is between the photographer lying flat on the floor trying to get the cat far enough away from the lens to get him sharp. Also it is a bit of support for the US pentaxians as it is so cold over there. He is a Maine Coon and named Red Ice.

I have to agree with Hattefnatt, i also tend to take pictures that are not “busy”. I was able to find one though.

I had to choose between wild horses located in Almere and a little donkey in Akouda.
I chose the donkey. This little fellow was just our “house at the beach” in Tunisia.

Weekly Challenge Weekly Photo Challenge #442 -- My Favorite Image From 2018

Interest migh be a problem to be honest. I hosted about 20 POTW in a row and I get the idea that interest is somewhat waning. Not that it is fgoing massively down, but somehow it gets posted fewer photos i think currently as in the beginning. i like POTW as there is not really a winner ( although I also like the weekly challenge because there is one :) ). It also hase a bkt more flexibility. I also liked hosting and would not mind hosting it agin or for a longer period. I liked looking at all the photos and see what I liked and what not and give some kind of comments and pick my favorite out of a series. I am not even close to assuming that i am an expert :) but nevertheless I tried to comment. Sometimes i had to combine two weeks into 1 POTW, but no one seemed to mind that. I asked Noel to take over because I ran into some health issues at the beginning of 2018 (2 hospital stays) that supposedly get sorted out at the beginning of 2019 ( as the docters in the hospital say ). I will give it a good thought over my upcoming holiday, but I lean somewhat to skipping it for next year as Januari will already be difficult. And whenever Noel gets fed up with POTW I can alway take over that one again.
I hope you are not to dissappointed when it is not starting in 2019. If my health was not an issue I probably would have done it.

Hi Noel,

I already found some postings.
Maybe I can take it up un 2019 in Januari although Januari is probably not the best month to start for me as you know. But I always like contests. As you are a veteran could I tap into your expertise for a bit :). I will PM you for that.

Photolady,

Did project 52 evolve into POTW or were they separate. When separate why not reinstate project 52. I would like an extra challenge, although we already have the weekly challenge.

Noel,
Thanks for taking over the challenge. Much appreciated. I always find it a lot of fun, but i am running a bit low on time the coming weeks.
I like your series with which you started, but especially the third one :). A very healthy looking person ;).

The photos in my little series are the only ones worthwhile i got this week.

Looks like you are on a photo-taking spree :)
Great series of Santas. There must be a favorite Santa for everyone. I like both, but the first one has to be favorite. The reason for that being there are 3.

Marvelous series again noelcmn.
I am not really a gin tonic guy so tea is good :)
Imhave therefore two other favorites. I really like the first photo of the young lady. One of the better portraits i have ever seen and I am also not a portrait person. Really classy and a little touch of nostalgia, also not to processed. Great shot. My other favorite is the last one. The grandpa with the grandchildren. His very big smile is showing his joy.

This is also a beautiful photo AsahiGlass. I raly like the setting of the pier in the photo as well as how clean you got the shot. Night shots are always difficult (in my personal opinion) and you got a nice one.

Hi Jason,
It looks like the “season” also started in Kansas.
Good photo showing the Christmas fibes. Only the snow is somewhat low although more then overhere.
I really like that you went outside especially for this challenge. :)

I am always a bit amazed by the street numbering in the US, that is something you do not see (a lot) overhere

Well, Merv-O, you can not deny the efficiency of her storing her shoes. It might be a bit less efficient finding a matching pair going out though, but that is a problem for a later date :)

---------- Post added 11-29-18 at 03:13 AM ----------

Easy finding “his and hers” in this case.
Assuming that the left side of the door is supposed to be straight, you either have a non-straight door or the lens makes it a bit curved :)

Nice photo Asahiglass, the black and white workse very well in this one.
I will give you the benefit of the doubt that you were not naughty and secretly used a Nikon :)

Hi mohb, as photolady already indicated i accidentally closed one day early. But I really like your photo. The dark horse is photographed very beautifully. I like the subtle white line over his nose. You would have gotten a honorary mention for that one :) if i would not haveclosed to early and yours would have been in time.

---------- Post added 11-28-18 at 02:04 AM ----------

I closed the contest and atupdate got the 1st place with his photo of an eel. He already put up a new challenge.
