Gorgeous image Vieri. I too make a regular habit of checking the medium format images link and could have missed your posting. It would have been my loss.

Yes, Jack is the master with strong foreground and in focus backgrounds, especially in the Sonoran Desert. I like the negative space between the rocks and the bridge. It adds life to both of them.

I have bought 3 or 4 645 lenses from Japan on ebay in the last 6 months. All of the lenses were carefully packed and in extremely good condition. I used PayPal for all 3 transactions.

I like #2. The added light gives it more depth and interest. Not as monotony blue as #1. Thanks for all of your sharing.

Beautiful work Thomas . . . there's something for me to see everywhere in the image . . . there are layers of textures, and the bright spots are all in the right places.

Thomas, ditto about the texture in the second image. The range of greys and blues seem to amplify the contrast of water and stone. Very nicely done.

Also wonderful work and we'll expressed. I have, for some reason, been posting my work on my fb page (donboydphotography). I need to spend some serious time with my website. Please keep sharing.

I have just started using a 645d after having moved from 4x5 to a Nikon D800. The Nikon never felt right. The 645D reminds me of the 67 I had fallen in love with without knowing it as it was my first serious camera.

Mike, you have a great canvas to work from there in the Bay area, and your vision is spot on. Your work invites me as the viewer in. Without knowing exactly what I mean, I'm wondering how you are challenging yourself; how are you moving from the iconic to the intimate landscape? Hope that makes some sense.

Thanks for your replies. Looks like I need to do a little whittling.

Elsdad, I would lose the ability to do interval shooting with the CS-205.

I recently purchased a wired remote for my new-to-me 645D and the housing around the plug is slightly too large for it to fit. I could file the sides down probably, but was wondering if anyone has one that works without doing so. I would prefer one that would allow me to do interval shooting as well as the basics. Here is a link to the one I purchased on ebay:
TC C1 Timer Remote Shutter for Pentax K5 K 5 K 7 K7 645D K20D K200D K100D CS 205 | eBay

Thanks,

645D Focusing Screen

Jamie, your pansy photo looks like a Georgia O'Keefe painting (and that's a good thing :)). The P67 135mm lens doesn't have a good reputation but I must have gotten an exceptional copy because it was very good on my P67 and ended up being my favorite lens. I was disappointed in the P67 45mm and happy with the 200mm. In anticipation of getting the 645D and with the lenses I already have, I now have an A-35mm, (P67) 45mm, FA-55mm 2.8, FA-75mm, (67) 55-110mm, A-120mm, (P67) 200mm, (67) 300mm, 645 A-300 and an A-400mm. I also have a P67 2x and 645 1.4x Teleconverters. Both the 645 and 67 zoom lenses have such good reputations, I'm not sure if I will need to carry any primes under 200mm. I'm going to have to spend a fair amount of time testing all of these lenses. Can't wait to bet started. (I'm out of town on business until the weekend and won't pick up my 645D until I can get to the P.O. on Saturday AM.

Thanks for your encouragement.

I started shooting about 15 years ago with a P67; then moved to a 4x5. When they stopped making Readyload film and it was hard to get processed in a timely way I switched to a Nikon D800. I have never felt comfortable with it and decided to switch to the 645D as soon as the prices came down and within my price range. I had a K20D for awhile and had hoped for a high MP full frame Pentax but tired of waiting. I loved the P67 and still have some 67 glass. I think I'm going to be very happy with it.
