I had a pair of K5ii's, one was a K5iis and the other a K5ii. I traded my 85,000 shutter count K5iis for a K3ii and don't regret it for a second. Just better in every way. Hoping to replace my K5ii with the K3ii replacement.

The DA 10-17mm one of my favorite lenses. I took this photo with the lens touching the sand and less than 1" away. The sharpness always impresses me.

I have to completely agree. IMHO when (not if) a FF is released it must have a pretty full and current feature set ( WiFi, tethering, everything on the K3...) to be taken seriously and I expect Ricoh to make a honest effort.
Ricoh has slowly shown a effort to push the Pentax brand forward and with what they have and just a couple of additional lenses they should be able to cover the needs of most of the FF market. Ricoh has done a pretty good job of digging Pentax out of what I think was a pretty deep Hoya hole and are now pushing the market in some areas ( 645z with price, K5iis lack of AA filter, K3 simulated AA). I think the merger of the Ricoh/Pentax engineering is starting to come to fruition. There will also be IMO some of the second tier lens manufactures who will also fill in some of the gaps. There are over 6000 different lens out there and most are already full frame just waiting for a body to be mounted to.

Based on conversations with my local Pentax dealer who attended CES, here is what he told me to expect. Conformation of the 70-200/2.8 and long desired FF camera with a June 2015 scheduled ship date. I would expect to see the FF to be displayed under glass and most likely a prototype. I say all of this with no personal desire for a FF at this time but putting a high degree of confidence in the reliability of my source.

Here is my entry into Best of 2014. Asking a person pick one photo is like asking to pick your favorite child. I find I get the most response from photos taken with the DA 10-17 than any other lens I own.

Just purchased the 10-17 and find it makes a pseudo macro. Really surprised by how sharp it is. Shot this at a distance of about 2".

Selective colour- who likes em- who hates em?

All of my selective color has been done in camera either natural or with the use of cameras custom settings. Your eye tends to be drawn directly to the subject but the camera custom settings pick up background colors that is somewhat distracting. As for liking or not, it's not that much different than using color filters, cross processing, light painting or any other effect to change or manipulate the final results. Sometimes I like, sometimes not so much.

Lurker nomore! The time has come for me to join in, starting with a little history.

ProudPentax owner since 1976 with a K-1000, ME, MX w/winder (favorite camera I don'tuse), LBA , GBA, darkroom .... Went mostly inactive for 10-15 years :(

. 2003lead me to a Canon and digital brought me back into the obsession. Wanted a *stbut budget said a Panasonic DMC-TZ3 P&S, nice camera but still not a DSLR.Finally bought a Kr in 2010 :D(35000clicks to date) and the obsession is worse .

Not muchinto post processing :o, learningbut I get more satisfaction from getting it old school 'in camera' rather thanbuild and manipulate. Maybe if I was better at PP I might change my mind.Starting to shoot in RAW more but Pentax does such a good job with JPEGs Isometimes get lazy:). Withthe wealth of information available here and I promise to look first (I seemost questions have been asked and answered), ask questions 2nd and contributewhen appropriate.
