This barrage was renovated in 2005. It regulates the water level in the old Almelo-Nordhorn canal with the river Dinkel. The canal is closed for many years, and is now used for leisure purposes. Taken with Pentax K-1 and Sigma 17-35mm EX DG.

Hi lotech

You assured that your exposure steps are still set to 1/3 stop increments (default setting) and not to 1/2 stop increments.
Just to be sure.

Also from todays visit, and using in camera JPEG (SOOC). Because it is windy a high ISO is in use during this afternoon shots. But the quality of the K-1 is still great.

Tulips in Keukenhof.
Taken with D-FA 50mm F/2.8 Macro and Pentax K-1.

Normally the bokeh of the D-FA 50mm Macro and D-FA100mm Macro WR are not that smooth, but you may compensate by closing in on the subject, and choosing your background. Then it is doable to get an acceptable picture.

A while ago with Olympus E-PL6 and Olympus 60mm Macro. Still use this combination with the viewfinder VF-4.

Hi Bill,

I also use screw drive lenses (sometimes fully manual lenses), but in some situations you want to be more quiet, and so the noisy AF is not wanted. For the most part is a little bit slower, but the form factor of the lens is mostly smaller, and the lens is still fast enough on the K-1. I never experienced any accuracy issues with screw drive though.
I love my DA200, DA200, and DFA150-450 because they are quiet.

Kind regards, Ron

Although I am not using this lens a lot, I like it very much though.Even for my macro photography it is a specialty lens. But I am lucky to own it.
I grabbed this one years ago when I bought my K10D. The colours are fine.

Hi Bill,

Although I primarily use prime lenses, I am always satisfied with the Tamron 70-200mm F2.8 Di LD Macro when I am using it.
The drawback is the screw drive autofocus, but the image quality is very fine though.

Kind regards, Ron

No I will not deliver a tutorial.
The translation into Sidetrack is not that poetic, so you may just call me Ron. :D

This one is taken with flash on a Pentax K-01. Use of HSS.

Hello Pentaxians,

Although I am an avid Pentax user, I was never registered on this site. Did use it though. Now it is time to introduce myself after registration.

I started long time ago in the eighties with a Pentax K1000 (I still have in working order).I have a collection of K-mount glass to fit analogue and digital bodies.Nowadays I shoot with a K-1 primarily, but also with M43 for all city street photography. But macro, nature, reproduction, landscape and architecture is still done with K-mount.
I still use film for specific series in Amsterdam, and therefore my old Ricoh XR-X and Pentax Z-1/Program A/K1000 are still in use. I even shoot medium format 6*6 and 645(120 film only).

Kind regards,

Ron
