I wasn't able to get as nice of colors on this common raven, but it is a more pronounced black. your bright color one is pretty remarkable as far as colors go, I can only imagine what the birds see in their spectrum.

Nice images Norm. It really begs the questions with a good number of birds. I like how you brought up the jay. Over here in california we have the stellar jay, whom is gray. And with the refraction of light that appears to be a nice blue. The Common raven is black, unless talking about a young one where i think it is black with a brown underside. Just so happens that with some blacks, when the light hits it, it appears as though there is a slight hugh or color shift.

It's hard to say really, confidence in the camera, they have potential of being small so there is not that idea of someone with a large camera, the support from various camera manufacturers, there are versions of lenses for every occasion and they are really great (even the less expensive ones that are also fast), high res mode gives quality way above sensor size, the list can keep on going. It reminds me of the funny saying... its not the size of the sensor, but how it is used

Ive passed by this bus stop all the time while driving home, and thinking it would make an interesting photo. Well I finally decided to take a picture of it. In attempts of trying to push myself a little, I decided to try it with the Olympus. I was pleasantly surprised of how well the image turned out. Hand held, no real noise reduction used, ISO 4000, Pany 50-200, Olympus Omd em1ii.

As all things it can be subjective, but I do believe so. I find the meta data puzzling when viewing from ON1. Both Cameras have the same sensors, using the same focal length but the 645Z has a higher resolution? GFX- 8256x6192 @72 ppi vs the 645Z- 8256x6192 @300 ppi. I found that puzzling. Might be how the program reads the raw files, but still...I'm perplexed by this.

Yeah its definitely an interesting camera. I wish the raws were closer to what a pentax camera produces, but i love the jpeg output. Im a slower shooter, so the AF is just fine and works for the portaits that i use it for. Granted im not sure what really fast AF is? It seems quick with the gf 45 lens.... i can only imagine how fuji will treat the next version past the range finder model.

went to the Nevada County Fair in Grass valley region the other weekend and brought along the em1ii. besides using the Olympus 25mm f1.8, I thought I would also try out a new lens the Panasonic 50-200 f2.8-4.0.

25mm f1.8

50-200 f2.8-4.0. So far I've only had a small chance to use this lens and I needed something a little longer, and I think it produces awesome vibrant colors. Also about the same size and weight of the 12-100mm.

It makes sense for the model to like the one with less detail. The more detail, the more flaws someone can spot?

Problems using On1 Photo RAW with 645Z files

The future is filled with many unknowns, the same can be said about PEF, REF, ORF, etc. One day software companies could stop supporting those raw files also it seems like there are more issues with the .pef then the .dng at the moment(case in point the ON1 software having a difficult time constructing an image from it when in the development stage). To my knowledge .dng is just as native to pentax cameras as the file format .pef. it just so happens that pentax gives us a choice, and are not a raw rebuild saying it writes to the raw container in camera. I don't use adobe products, to be honest I do not like what they have done with the CC(reason why I switched). with that being said, I could go for lasagna right now saying that sounds delicious(as long as it isn't reconstructed... haha). I get where you are coming from, we each have our own styles, and our own process flows with the images. happy shooting

I was speaking of .dng not .png. There is a difference and i agree with you 100%. I havent had any issues using the other raw file the camera shoots in and it seems more compatible with many softwares in comparison to the .pef raw file the camera shoots in.

Yeah i just took some pictures and tried it again. Still looks like it does it to the overexposed sections only with the .pef file. I cant remember if i asked this, but is there a reason why you shoot with the .pef raw file instead of the .dng? Just kind of curious. Canít think there really is any difference between the two except it seems like certain programs prefer the .dng files.

Actually it isnt... a subscription definition is paying for use of a product or service. Yes you can twist that definition as you please, but essentially thats where the difference is between adobe and other programs. With adobe you are paying to use there product and service. Product as in program and service as far as updates. Doesnt matter on how minor they make it. You dont want to pay for their product and services they take back their program.

On the other hand, nothing is free and companies need to make money. On1 sells you a product, you are not forced to update/upgrade it, and will continue to work as it should(no matter how pour it ight be). In ways to fund product development and make money, They sell a new product, might still be the same product with a different name, but its a new product with different features.

Welcome to the modern age. When talking about renting an item and subscribing to an item, yu are talking about the same thing. Only difference is in the matter of what happens in that period. A rental you arent recieving anything other then the program. No updates, no improvements, when the rental period is over you are forced to give it back. Subscription on the other hand you are paying for the product until term ends or you dont want the service anymore. In reallity you can say well i subscribe to a magazine, but there is differences in the application. Adobe is more like other services such as dry cleaning, security, tv, internet; while On1 is more like a camera company where you get firmware updates for that model, but you want the new model you have to buy a new one(best part the old one still functions).

I wouldnt say its a unofficial subscription. The software will continue to work as it should, without needing to continue to pay for it. I mean should we say that a k1ii is an unofficial update to the k1 and we should be able to get the improvements for free?

Yeah i only got to play with it for a little but of time. It does seem quicker, and the added profiles are nice. Not much of an update in relation to medium format lenses, but ill hopefully be able to dive into more detail when ill use it later.

They offer quite a range of lenses, but you will find that lens complaint thrown about all over the place. From the sounds of it they are working on it, but it is a slow process. One of the reasons why you see people jump to other brands or add other brands to their bags because of pentax not offering what certain photographers need.

It can be a toss up for me but id have to choose between the fa 43 limited, 645 fa 75, and the 645ls 135. All three are nice rendering lenses, yes they have there down sides to them, but they make it up with character. I think if i had to pick one though between the 3, i really like the 43 limited. Its the size, the details it produces, and it even covers a 44x33 sensor ever so slightly with minimal vignetting.

I had a chance to try a different K mount lens on the Fuji, this time with the Rokinon 24mm T/S. It is nothing to write home about but it is manageable.

this next one is like the last but I used the tilt function of the lens.
