Its about setting a bar.. a potential to reach towards, whilst being compassionate for current shortcomings. That's the recipe for growth.

The K1 is that bar, that potential. As is any gear set combined with its user's passion to learn and creativity.

I recently picked this lens up.. I've been using it a lot and quite enjoying it on the K1 as a part of a two lens kit with the 40XS. Haven't tried on crop yet. Good luck with the sale.

Ah useful ideas. I often lament having so many User modes cluttering things up because for the usual things I like doing it on the fly, keeps my brain engaged in why I'm doing something. The things you mentioned would be useful as a User setting for me. Well thought out.

Perhaps a Fx catch in focus option?

Or focus for specific (custom) distances like on the new DFA zooms? (push once for X distance, push again for X distance, push etc.)

Welcome back! I seem to recall that Sigma may provide a service to change the mount on your 85 if its the same model that they sell for pentax. Might be worth checking.

Lol this forum is full of evil temptresses.. yes no tempters.. temptresses. Lenses are shes and all those who push them on others are temptresses.

I love the 35 ltd. I wish so much that itd work on FF. I haven't been able to part with it. Mind sharing an image of your setup? I've used the 35 for scanning film once and just had the negative taped to a window. I have a box of slides I need to get to work on and need some inexpensive ideas.

I appreciate your thorough description. Are you still enjoying your experience with the S2 in general? Also photographically?

That's fascinating. Thanks for sharing. Is it on some kind of swivel arm so you can swing it in or adjust for comfort? Or do you unsuction it every time to adjust.

Wonderful stories and tenacity here. I appreciate it hearing about it. Being legally blind since 8 years old, I too have to make some accomodations. I'll be 32 soon. I too use the camera as a motivator and bridge to the world. The more I pursue child like thinking and a sense of awe the more I feel healthy and whole. It can be quite easy to feel discouraged when someone more skilled than I tries to give me advice and I can't see what he's talking about. I've also had to focus on what I can get to physically. Not being able to drive makes the world a much smaller place. I have an insatiable appetite to learn and improve but when things like that get in the way I have to rethink things. Sometimes its better to focus on what I can do. It can be qutie humbling to rely on others for so many things. Thank God for others.

I have one similar. I brought it to a butterfly conservatory and enjoyed using it on a 560 IV in one hand and a camera + TX in the other. Got a little heavy at times. It helped me get shots I couldn't have in the lighting available. I also have a largr collapsible ringlight/softbox/"beauty dish" where you can shoot through the middle that I use for portraits and the like as well. It folds flat which is nice for travel. I'm not a pro and haven't compared it to real beauty dishes with high end strobes. I've often used it on its own or as a hair light.

Don't forget center weighted on those clouds will cause the rest to darken. In post try raising shadows, or blacks, or add a graduated filter or two to increase the exposure of the buildigns and water.

Following.

Not a specific name, but I do admire photographers who can make art of their own street, neighborhood, city etc. The normal everyday stuff.

I recently dreamt about a $10,000 / month apartment on a 55th floor somewhere with shag carpet and shag furniture.. followed by a dream of sleeping in the snow and a dancing talking hedgehog. Sometimes I think my brain is melting while I'm sleeping. Dreams are very strange things.

Really enjoyed those images Normhead. Thanks for sharing them. What a neat moment when you encounter wild life like that. Just started watching a show called "Alone," last night. its a survival show were ten guys are completely alone on northern Vancouver island surrounded by bears, cougars, wolves, jungle and salt water. Its amazing what nature will do to a man's preconceptions and his psyche.
