The moon with genuine (1st) Q and small 500 mm telescope (4 images stacked, 500/4.4, ISO 125 1/125 s. not cropped). The seeing was so-so at best. I'm quite happy with the result, but have to check if good 300 mm lens could be more useful for most moon photos.

I used "sun foil" for visual observation (special Baader sun foil) glued to some step down ring as a filter, This was my first time with Q and the sun, but it seems that ISO around 160, 1/800 s and f11 should be OK.

The genuine (first) Q on Tamron SP Adaptall-2 60-300 (23A) at 300 mm, 2 stops down circa, Baader foil ND 5.0 filter, quick and dirty edit.

Tokina RMC 400/5.6 - how to open?

Thank you, this is extremely useful! I checked before, there are no additional screws under the focusing rubber unfortunately. No problem if it would focus past ininity, in this case I would just mark proper place with some paint, like in case of some my zooms. But it is focusing at circa 50 meters when at infinity mark...

It seems to be a nice lens: quite small, relatively light, with good rotating tripod collar, not bad at f 8/f11...

Tokina RMC 400/5.6 - how to open?

I have a nice Tokina 400/5.6 which I need to open to adjust the infinity focus. I suppose this is possible as it was definitely made in many mounts, But I do not see the possibility:

- it has one screw on the lens barrel, but when I unsrew it I can't move anything,
- I do not see how to open it from the front - the nameplate is not perpendicular to the lens barrel, it is almost perpendicular to the front glass element; i do not see how to use lens spanner here...

Maybe someone tried to do this already and could offer any insight?

This is the lens, btw:

Pentax Q on 500 mm telescope (Newtonian) equipped with Baader foil. I had a plans to watch the eclipse only, but then simply connected the Q to my telescope for a few snapshots. Technically it's bad, but I like it anyway.

For me it is brilliant news and, for me, O-GPS is just a name for Astrotracer. Astrotracer is great and <100 g. Even the smallest astrotrackers, not that much better in fact re tracking, weight few, kilos, take much space (definitely too much for backpacking, "on the border" if you fly for some vacations) and cost more. With astrotracer you can do some landscape/astrophoto without having to transport everything in the car, your normal photo bag is enough.

Genuine (first) Pentax -Q connected to 1meter telescope. This was through my 102/1000 mm (F10) refractor (ISO 250 1/160, few frames stacked in Sequator). One can see some prominent Moon craters from Plato to Copernicus and Montes Apenninus (the orientation is little off).

The moon detail with Gassendi, Copernicus and Erastothenes craters (most impressive craters - left to right), Montes Riphaeus, Montes Carpatus and Montes Apeninus.
This was made with Bresser-Messier Ar 102 - 102/1000 refractor (1000 mm FL, f 9.8, ISO 400, 1/200 s, 6 frames, only, stacked in Sequator). It seems this is very good match as these are just baby steps with much room for improvement. Moreover both telescope and my Q are white:)

I have the same when the battery in my K-r is not fresh, esp. with lenses having no "A" contacts. The best remedy in my case is to use Eneloops/IKEA Ladda AA's, not BC-109's. Also the new batteries are better in this regard.

Wow - sharp and with nice stars! Is it Super - or SMC Takumar? I have one 5-Element 135/2.5 but was only using it wide open from time to time... Do you remember the f-stop used here?

Very nice! Many say FA 80-320 is not sharp, but it seems to produce nice color which is sometimes even more important. How do you rate it regarding detail preservation?

I would say sharpness/contrast is easy to improve in post when needed, but having nice picture (colour, tone, saturation etc.) with no postprocessing is always a bonus.I have many fine pictures with FA 28-70 even if technically it is not the best lens.

I think that Q/C-mount adapter plus C-mount/1,25" adapter is the most common option.
