Good: New roadmap, new lens

Back in the film days I often used 24-50 f/4 and 70-210 f/4 when hiking and general nature photography. It was a great combination covering most of my needs without being too large and heavy. 24-90 f/4 and 70-200 f/4 would be a great combination for my use.

No need for that. Just give it to me and I can keep it in my cellar (when not in use).

Pentax 20mm F2.8 A

Just in case:
If you compare the field of view with a FA31 mounted on K-1, then yes, the A20 will give you approximately the same if you use it on an APS-C sensor. However, the field of view you get with the A20 on an APS-C sensor will be identical to the field of view you get with a DA18-55 at 20mm on an APS-C sensor, and almost the same field of view that you get with the DA21 lens on that sensor.

:-)

Ive tried A20mm on a K-3, K-5 as well as some older cameras (and also K-1). It is a great lens, but with a little distortion. As UncleVanya say the field of view will be the same as when you is you chose 20mm on your 18-55mm lens.

Interchangeable Focusing Screens

I tried manual focus with K-1 a couple of weeks ago with A*85 f/1.4 and A*135 f/1.8.

While it does take som training to get used to I did manage to focus without confirmation. The A50 f/1.2 was a little more difficult, probably because it is soft at f/1.2.

These two (second 100%crop) where with A*135mm.

I've got the lenses I need so the only thing extra would be a couple of large SD-cards.

I've used both A*85mm with film and DA*55mm on APS-C and find them quite similar. Both of them lovely for portrait. FA43mm is good to, but a bit wide.

New Ricoh patent - in-lens SR with AA filter simulator

No, but it would be a great technology for trading with CaNikon. Not all patents are meant for use, some are meant to stop or trade with competitors. We know that Nikon tried to make a AA simulator (don't remember the exact technology) but they haven't put it to use so maybe it didn't work. If Ricoh can stop them from simply shaking the lens that would be great

Are you confusing "equivalent focal lengths" with real focal lengths now? A 135mm f/2.0 would be a completely different construction than a 200mm f/2.8. Actually, it would be quite similar to my old 135mm f/1.8 (which is large an heavy), except maybe a litt smaller lenses on the sensor end of the lens because of the reduced sensor size.

That's just because the 50-135mm is a 50-135mm, and not a 70-200mm  My old A70-210mm f/4 was also quite large, a bit longer than the 50-135mm but not as heavy.

Regarding the DA*200mm it probably would not be much smaller as an APS-C-lens. The length and width is pretty fixed at that focal length.

I was lucky almost 15 years ago on a Norwegian market, and bought it for about $500. An honest seller realised that it was cheap after making the deal because he got beter offers, but on the other hand he knew who I was and preferred a safe sell.

The A*85 I actually bought new in the late 80s. A bit worn on the outside, but the optics is perfect.

They need a fast wide angle, so I'm guessing at something like a new FA*24mm f/2.0. It would be a good match to the 31mm.
