I've just pulled apart an SF7 but there was none to be found - unless it's buried deep inside.

Has anyone tried using a tape head demagnetizer?

FA vs. D FA for K-1 - a real difference in image quality?

One thing to be aware of with film-era lenses is 'hot spots' that can mar certain images. Some old lenses have a particularly flat rear element. This combined with poor coatings and the new shiny sensors can result in a sky blue circle appearing in the middle of high contrast shots. The strength and size of the circle depends on the scene and f-stop.

You can reduce the effect with some effort:

I'm with dms.

A change in the stiffness of the mount will upset the dynamics of the SR control system and will likely lead to ringing as the control loop becomes unstable.

Having recently bricked a large and expensive UPS while trying a firmware upgrade, I'd suggest that there are benefits to leaving well alone after all.

I've noticed it too with the F 50/2.8 macro. Happens when I try to get a bright white background with flash.

Here's how I fixed it - well sort of. It doesn't make it all go away but at least it's not so offensive:

Why third party lens companies are running away?

Possibly also something to do with the ready availability of old K-mount lenses.

It's difficult for a third-party manufacturer to undercut the OEM with a big of second-hand market snapping at their heels.

It could well use something like 1-wire from Dallas Semiconductor:
