Well I finally managed to join this club a little while ago :D

I bought the 31mm around Easter but didn't have a chance to go out with it until yesterday.

This is made from 3 shots x 3 exposures, all taken without a tripod so I spent quite a while on the computer matching parts up  It's the first time I tried a "strong" HDR effect as well - what do you think, too much?

I do like the second one as well, the contrast is nice. Maybe you can crop the photos a bit? I think it would look nicer with a bit less on the right.

Is the black picture happening after the return for a new circuit board? Sounds like you need to do another return :(

I have this lens on loan from a friend's father. I haven't used it often but the colours are excellent and it is sharp stopped down, I did a quick and very unscientific comparison with my 50-135mm and the differences weren't much at all.

Thanks a lot for this info - will try this tomorrow :)

Yep, this is me

I go through my photos straight after importing them and delete probably 30-80% of them depending on how the day's gone.

Only the ones I'm fairly proud of make it to flickr, and I'm keeping tabs on the ones I'm super happy with to print a book of one day :)

Wow your physics class sure seems more interesting than mine ever was!

For the first two shots it may look better if you'd gotten down lower so the rocket was against the sky as much as possible? I find the break in the background a little distracting from the rocket.

Fun photos! :)

Landscape Richmond Bridge

I went to Richmond last weekend with my boyfriend because his parents had told us the town fair was on. Unfortunately they were one day off on the date :D but we still had fun there.

A few things that happened on that day -
I heard my first ever car accident! We were below the bridge following the ducks around when there was a sound from the other side of the river. We ran up with everyone else to see what had happened but there was just what looked like part of a car lying on the road (a small section behind the front headlights I think).

A car parked at the top of the ridge above the river, the windows came down and the people inside tossed four complete (as in complete like you'd get from the baker, and not sliced) loaves out at the ducks! It was funny seeing them all waddle up the hill as fast as they could and try and stick their beaks into the bread. Also - ducks aren't very good at tearing up bread from a whole loaf

And the last thing, we were walking around the river, I looked into the water and saw a wasp in there! He was floating along the top of the water waving his little legs around wildly :( My boyfriend got a branch he found on the ground and reached in, hoping to scoop him out somehow. The little champ saw the branch and held on tight as we lifted him out! We left him drying off and cleaning himself on the bank.

So, that's enough waffling on from me :) I took a pretty awful photo of the bridge and ran it through Nik Silver Efex - antique plate II I think. Photoshop magic!

Yes, I also believe upbringing is a very large part of it (and needing licenses to have children would be brilliant :D ) you also have to admit people are just different. Take my brother for example - we were brought up basically the same, but he is just naturally more, "violence friendly", I guess (or maybe less queasy :) ) compared to me.
