Lovely colours indeed! Was that with a polarising filter? The sky looks a very dark blue in comparison.

I've always wanted a GR, but held off buying one second hand because of the dust ingress reports. With dust removal built in the only barrier to me now is the price. Hopefully the lens performs at least as well as the past two!

There is now the 1/1.7 used in the Huawei P20/Mate 20 Pros that has a 40MP resolution, I'm pretty sure I read about a newer one but I'll have to look for it. I would be seriously tempted by a Q that oversampled like the Nokia 808 and have you a choice of resolutions, oversized sensor for aspect ratio change like the LX7 would be good too.

Must get a Q for the collection anyway...

Looking at you pictures, I think I might need one too! Not sure the British weather will do it the same justice though...

Nice shots as ever!

Which colour mode are you using? I tend to use standard and find the K-50 gets everything in a nice balance. Vivid I would say oversaturates everything...

Nice pictures, I'm always intrigued by fungi, not sure why I haven't turned a lens on any yet! Nice use of natural lighting and inspiring to me to get out and shoot some myself!

Poll: What should the next Pentax Full Frame be?

A bit rich for most though, a 'KF' if you will, compact but able to trade blows with the D610/6D2 on price and quality (the D610 is particularly cheap at the minute), while offering the OVF and rugged build Pentax are famous for I would see as having a fighting chance of differentiating itself from the CaNikony alternatives. Though of course with Sony's current business model, you could opt for the Mk1 or Mk for mouth-wateringly good prices (£749 and £1199 with kit lenses!) so they would probably need to include the K-1II sensor to make it tempting, and that may not be viable...

I just can't see that happening with a Pentax 'sports ready' full frame, there are three other players (four if you count Olympus and the EM1-2) in that area already and I can't see them getting enough of a lead to jump ahead and carve out their own piece of the pie. A self-calibration facility for AF would be appreciated though, I'm sure I heard Nikon offer something like that.

I'm not going to sift through the already 9 pages of posts in case someone has already said this, but that's going to be a tall order for Pentax/Ricoh and we all know it.

I wonder if it would be better to target the smallest full frame DSLR in the style of the KP or similar, to give them a USP of sorts. They're not going to overtake everyone on a sports camera, and I can only see the business case there being to try and make something competitive, but then undercut rivals. Not the best position to be in for profit it would seem.

An approachable full frame for consumers with 'enough' hardware controls and a not overly large/heavy body could be a route not explored yet?

Battery for the ME Super is LR44 if I remember rightly from my own. Bought hundreds off eBay for very little. Love that camera, its why the Fujifilm XT100 got me so excited.

It's a funny thing really, I don't really want to buy 3rd party lenses, my rational mind says they're fine, but I can't shake the gut feeling I won't be 100% happy when I get it. So far buying only Pentax lenses I haven't been at all disappointed (even the 18-55 WR is a nice lens IMHO - wipes the floor with the Nikon 18-55 VRII I used to use), even though rationally I know that the Canon lenses may not be as good or consistent, my experiences make me want to stick with first party. Hence I didn't mention Tamron et al in the Op.

No movement from the big A yet so I've still time to change my mind. Part of me likes the idea of two separate systems with their own strengths, certainly seems better value for money at the moment (again, only considering 1st party lenses). But then another system is less time with the K-50, decisions...

I had forgotten about the 16-45. But even that second hand plus the cheapest FA24 f2 I can find equal the same price as this little combo. The way I see it is I get the bonus of a second, higher resolution camera free.

I'd love the 16-85 but it's hugely expensive. As is something like the 12-24 (and I'm guessing the new APS-C wide zoom will be).

I'm still a bit undecided, but felt I'd better buy while I still had a prime free trial.

I don't mind second hand for older lenses but I don't have the money to throw 280 quid at a second hand lens only to find it packs up a year down the line. I'm not expecting to use the 15-45 all that often, the 22 is far more attractive.

So I lost my battle to not purchase the Canon EOS M100 kit with the 15-45 and 22mm after all. (although it's on a 3-6 week delivery time so I may yet reconsider).

Wish cashback this nets me a nice 24-72 zoom and a 35 f2 equivalent for £400. Seems pretty good considering my my counts it would have cost me over £1k for Pentax's closest equivalent lenses. I'll even be able to get the well regarded 11-22 in the near future.

Makes me wonder why there's such a dearth of affordable wide angle zooms and primes with Pentax?
