A great story! I'm glad the photography fires still burn in you. I'd love to see some of your photos from the wedding chapel days. It's wonderful that you and your wife could pursue your respective passions in that way! The K-x is still a great little camera. I'm sure you enjoy it. See you around!

Just checking in to compliment the fine images here this week. My wife has been out of town so I've had added responsibilities out here in the real world. Therefore, my act isn't enough together to share anything at the moment. And even if it were, I only have more football practice stuff. Maybe next week will be better. See you then!

My K-x is still with me after 3+ years, but I couldn't refuse the call of the K-3 earlier this year. It has a few more bells and whistles (the autofocus and processor are great for sports/action), but the K-x is still "the little camera that could." I always enjoy "doing battle" with my father-in-law and his Nikon D7000. He is amazed at the shots I get with the K-x. Don't underestimate it!

As for the tagline...I have considered redoing it with my own shots, but currently it's composed of ones I found. Maybe one of these days. ;)

Thanks for taking the hosting duties, Stephen!

@mattb123 , I wondered what you did with the 8mm you spoke of earIier. I guess now I know! Good one!

I don't know if @ramseybuckeye will show up this week, but he recently mentioned the cat that had taken over at his house. Here's the one that takes charge at my house. Some of you may have seen this on Alphabet Race.

Weekly Challenge Weekly Challenge #292 - Ordinary Miracles

My entry is a tribute to an ordinary miracle that we all hold dear—photography itself. The fact that we can capture a scene onto paper, or now a digital file, to save the moment essentially forever is something with which we are oh so familiar, but which is truly remarkable in the scope of our history.

Here my aunt is looking through a book filled with the ordinary miracle of decades-old photographs. And for me this photo is itself such a miracle that I will keep of her.

Thanks! These are both quite lovely. The soft spotlighting on the second is wonderful.

Of course, I understand that you're just starting out, but I get the same feel from your "sea dog"–Yes, I've been snooping. :) I suppose it has much to do with the colors. Anyway, keep it up!

Absolutely, I can see the breeze in the trees! I guess the tough part of the shot is the 3:30am bit. :) Thanks for the details.

A very "July" kind of image! Is this a fountain or a hydrant? And welcome to POTW!

@perspicador – Lovely greens and violets! I must say that the UK seems to have the most colorful butterflies. I need to plan a visit to the butterfly center at Callaway Gardens to see if I can get some good butterfly shots.
