I captured this in Raleigh, North Carolina. A member here donated a Pentax ZX-3 to me and this was shot on expired Fujicolor Superia XTRA 400 at Castle Mont Rouge, in Rougemont, NC. I believe I shot this on a 50mm f/1.4 SMC-A lens.

"Awaiting the Return of a Lover"
Secluded in the woods
Hiding among trees
She awaits the return
Return of one long awaited.

Not impatiently
Patient.

She gets in moods
She loses her keys
Still awaiting the return
Scarred feelings unabated

Lost in the woods.

Bookmarked that breakdown. I keep seeing 85 and 90mm macros. My Pentax is my film shooter. My digital is a Canon T5i, which is an APS-C with 18MP, so I don't think that's an issue, but I only have a 60mm f/2.8 macro, and its all I can afford. Think that will work?

Awesome, thanks guys. I'm going up to Castle Mont Rouge next week and will probably take this guyu up there with some Ilford 100 in it. Got owner permission to photograph the property whenever I like earlier this year. I teach so this has been an insane last few weeks!

Would you recommend creating a rig like this as opposed to purchasing, say, the Jumbl scanner (which does 35mm at 16 megapixels)?

I'll look into that one later.

The one thing that I'm noticing w/o putting film in is that the camera can't talk to the 50mm f/1.4 at all (FOUND IT!), or my Vivitar 75-300mm. The aperture is always "--". I'm fine using it in manual/Aperture Priority modes via the lens ring, but will it still shoot the aperture appropriately, or is it locked open by the camera's arm?

Special thanks to Titrisol! I'll be shooting Pentax soon! Just have to get a battery and find where I put that 50mm lens. I'm more than a little upset that I've misplaced it.

Awesome! Good to know if I go get a newer K-Mount instead of an identical camera!

I've left it in the car and our cat's an escape artist, but the aperture ring can be locked to the 'A' option.

Just went and got it. SMC Pentax-A. Matches the first one.

Hello all! I primarily shoot digital, actually. I don't have a Pentax digital body, as my first digital SLR was a Canon XTi and, well, with my budget, once I had a 60mm Macro and 75-300mm Zoom, I couldn't really afford to switch. I just recently was given some Pentax film gear I want to use as well, since I have been having loads of fun w/ Ilford and Kodak 35mm films.

Also, since I can't seem to edit my post, I'm from the Raleigh-Durham area! Sorry for the double post!

How can I tell? the 50mm/1.4 is has goes from f/1.4-f/22, and then has an "Automatic" slider. I may just get a P series, then. Eyeing one for $10 atm on eBay.

I'm not emotionally attached to it, and neither is she. She told me to sell it for parts if I can't fix it. Our local camera shop that develops all my film couldn't fix it ten years ago, either.

I have a pair 'o digital bodies. One normal, one infrared. I also have been collecting cheap 35mm's to play with lately. :D Here's one of my shots.

1. Yes :P I second-guessed myself, checked, tried the other way just for kicks and giggles, and then double-checked the manual and put them in the original way. Nothing.

2. I'll think about it. Looking at his prices, might be cheaper to get a replacement camera. That being said, I hate seeing hardware go to waste... I'll give it some thought, thanks!

I also inhereted a f/1.4 50mm lens, and a 75-300mm Vivitar lens.

My mom recently gave me her old Pentax Program Plus. She told me that the shutter only exposes half of a frame of film. I was hoping to put some batteries on it, and fire the shutter w/o film to see if the shutter was only half-opening. Upon inserting batteries, the camera does... Nothing. No LED's, no error's, no "1000" shutter speed, nothing. I can't get it do do anything. I have other 35mm cameras, but this is my oldest and my only Pentax. Should I just write this off and buy a new one on ebay?

I'm the new owner of an old Pentax Program Plus I want to start shooting with, and thought I'd register here since Richoh's forums for such things seem... Well, dead. Hi!
