Would the 7.4 volt be a problem considering the originals are 7.2 v ?

Thanks, Eric.

I give in. I believe it has it, but it is grayed out in my menu. I've not bothered with it before but thought I'd have a look. The manual seems to be of no help. How do you activate it?
Thanks in advance. Eric.

I'm surprised no-one has mentioned the name "K-Nu" or Gnu (Gnu, (genus Connochaetes), also called wildebeest, either of two species of large African antelopes of the family Bovidae in the tribe Alcelaphini. They are among the most specialized and successful of African herbivores and are dominant in plains ecosystems.)
Lets see....Solid (Beast of a camera), fast (new focus system), graceful, specialized and successful and dominant in our own little echo system

K-3 II died. What should I do?

My K3ii very recently did this exact same thing. North of 210,000 actuation's and I decided to send it of for a quote and check out the shutter/mirror box. Cost me $145.00 Aud. to fix. But had to send it back with the lens as I hit +10 af fine tune and was still back focusing abit. Apart from that, the camera was fine.

Focusing/calibration probs, K3ii and Pentax DFA 70-200

I sent the camera off to CR Kennedy for repairs (also sent her lens) and put an urgent request on it as was needed in two weeks. Pleased to say it came back in time
and works better than new. The engineer /Tech who worked on it did an excellent job on it. He " adjusted the camera focusing point as required. Calibrated lens using
Pentax servicing program. " The focus now locks on quicker and is more decisive and holds its focus much better in centre focus and tracking focus (centre). Shooting
horses coming over a jump towards you can be a little hit and miss in continuous shooting, a couple in focus a couple just off. Her keeper rate is now quite high in comparison
to before, which was generally quite good anyway. It certainly feels faster. We use first frame in focus and then fps in continuous and she says the only bad shots she had,
she knows was her doing. After using the old K3 (my K3ll is now over east after losing the back lcd viewing) for a whole day, I then on the next day, with threats of death if anything happens to her camera, used her K3ll and the difference is like chalk and cheese. I may have to send the K3 over to be looked at as that is in decisive a little in focusing, certainly stands out now.
I emailed the company and asked them to forward my thanks to the engineer, whose name was on the paper work. Thanks should be given where it's due.

Eric.

Lighting was good. As stated above 4meters. The MFD is from memory aprox 41 inches, a scratch over 1 meter. I have no probs calibrating front and back focus. This combination has worked perfectly for my daughter for about the last 9/10 months. It hasn't sustained any knocks. She likes the bokeh at 2.8 and it seems to work for her. To be honest, I don't know has she consistently does it. I taught her well lol. I prefer F3.5 or F4 and then F5.6 for presentations. (Daughter also adjusts for presentations) The problem is the focus is inconsistent.

No, It wasn't a perfectly blank wall but the wall was a few meters away. When I moved the camera off to the side then pressed the shutter release (in catch in focus mode) it doesn't trip until it got closer to the handle. My own gear would trip in the exact same spot regardless of which direction I panned from whereas my Daughters would trip either side pending on which direction I panned from. Yes I cleaned focus sensor in the bottom using the sensor cleaning kit.

UncleVanya
I'm curious about how you cleaned the submirror.

With the camera off, carefully lift the mirror (I used the plastic handle of the cleaning swab) then used a cleaning swab. I wet cleaned it then used a dry swab. also cleaned under the main mirror. I had practiced on one of the K 3s' first. Daughter is already peeved without me putting my life on the line lol.

My Daughter uses the K3ii and Pentax DFA 70-200 2.8 and it is normally a marriage made in heaven, like beer and chocolate lol. The other day she was having trouble with the focus being all over the place. I had previously cleaned the sensor and used the blower and all was good. After reading about the sub mirror for the focusing module, I went back and re did it. In short, I decided to set up on the tri-pod with the camera set for catch in focus. I focused on a broom handle from about 4 mtrs away, slipped the lens to manual, then holding the shutter half way, panned in from the left to see where it picked up the focus. It was of to the left of the original focus point before I got to the handle. Coming in from the right, it did the same, but to the right of the handle. I had the aperture at 2.8 and also tried it at 3.5. Was the same. My Daughter near always uses 2.8. Oh, by the way, we mostly do Equine events on weekends, having done this for 4.5 or so years. Also there was a couple of meters of space behind the broom which was standing. I also messed around with the af fine tuning to see if it made a difference, but no, none. I then put my K3 and my Pentax DFA 70-200 2.8 on the tri-pod and went through the same procedure for comparison. Mine was just slightly off to the left of the handle (just on the edge of the handle) when panning from the left and slightly left off of the handle when panning from the right (same spot) so at least consistent. I put my lens on her camera and it was doing the same as her rig. Seems rather strange to be so all over the place. Anyone have any ideas? I know I'll have to send it to CR Kennedys here in Aus' Oh, one thing I noticed was her af fine tune used to be on +four, I had to move it to +8 That's the closest to best focus.
Thanks for any input.

Eric.

Cactus V6 II HSS compatibility with my current speedlite?

A question. If you have a Cactus V6II on the K3/k3II or K1 FF, do you need the off camera flashs' (AF 540 FGZII and AF 360 FGZII) mounted on the Cactus V6II?
or do they "talk" directly to the flash/s. I take it you don't need a flash on the Cactus on the camera to operate? Looking at buying, just need to know how many.

Thanks in advance.

You can always limit your ISO range through the menu, ie: 100-400 or what have you and still use Tav mode.
