I think I'm still taking photos of the same stuff, just my equipment and my use of all prime lenses is now heavy and more inconvenient than the point and shoot I started out with.

I have both 52mm and 49mm lens caps, now I'll have to see if a 52 fits on a 42.

I bought a panagor 300mm 4.5 off craigslist.
It was cheap so I figured it's worth a try.

I'd go with some kind of cheap older bridge camera they're tougher easier to hold. like a fuji and put a piece of tape over the mode dial.
one that doesn't have an extending lens so it won't get full of dirt,

I don't think I have a chance of winning the photo contest but I'll give it a try.

handheld I use the viewfinder most of the time because it's way more steady and the camera points where I want it to instead of angled off somewhere.
On a tripod it's usually live view, and when I shoot low things like mushrooms.

That would definitely be a plus for the KP.
My K-70's AB failed at 7500 I think, I'm at 12,000 shots now I've been using it with the aperture ring.
Now that's it's winter I'll have to send it in.

Yes it does, especially no PP say a lens has low contrast and poor color rendition if some did post on it it would be harder to tell the lens isn't as good.

The sun was getting low giving golden light, which made this male wood duck even more gorgeous than usual.
