I use Lexar Professional SD SDHC Memory Card Class 10 633x UHS-I - 16GB in my K1, K3 & KP. As I do not shoot video 16gb is enough for me, cheap enough to be replaced after a reasonable amount of use

Hi
I agree with TomB_tx steel reels are by far the easiest to load, I have used them for many years, I still have my Honywell Nikor I bought in the 70's. Having said all that I use the Jobo system, as I use my bathroom basin I do not want to drop a steel tank!

Furthermore I use a V large bag as I load film in it.

I am using the Pentax AF 540 FGZ II.

To use or not to a Stofen diffuser that is my question, or any diffuser.

Thanks

Whenever I am out with a digital camera, I always carry at least one spare battery [fully charged] and SD card, as the very minimum usually two batteries and four SD cards.

All the best for 2019

I use a camera to take photographs, I was using cameras before they had wifi and batteries that required recharging every so many shots. The image is all important, wifi will not improve it, having and using a spare battery is no great chore, nor is physically uploading to a computer.

To me the argument is the same for video, if I wanted to use video I would use a camcorder, my DSLR is for still photography, if tech nerds want wifi and all the bells and whistles just stick with the 'iPhone' or the android equivalent !

From Fuji to Pentax? May be yes, may be not.

I had a Pentax K5 back in 2012, but was seduced by the lighter Fuji X-Pro1, thinking that the Pentax was too heavy, I then advanced to the Fuji X-T1 and the Fuji X-Pro2, whilst all the time still keeping my Pentax ME Super and LX.

I have sold all my Fuji gear except for the X-T1 and X100S and bought the Pentax KP taking into consideration the weight factor there are definite advantages in using a DSLR, I particularly like the rear display much better with aging eyesight easier to use menu.

I have no regrets in returning to Pentax, although I feel as if I never left!

Seasons greetings to all in the forum

Metz 45 flash usage - DSLRs

I have a Metz 45 CL-4 that I have used on my Pentax LX, I would like to use the flash with my Pentax KP, but I am cautious about this as the KP is new!

According to the UK distributer of Metz the trigger voltage is 15v, the safe voltage for Pentax DSLRs is 25v.

Has anyone used a Metz 45 CL-4 with a Pentax DSLR in particular the KP, if so which SCA adaptor combo is used?

Will Pentax survive? Who can really foresee what tomorrow will bring. I certainly hope so, a few short years ago pundits stated that film was dead, long live film! a new generation has discovered the delights of processing their photographs as opposed to 'images'.

Back in the day I used the K1000 and MX, I now have an LX for film and I have returned from only using mirrorless to a KP for digital work.

When only film was used Nikon was a brand leader, now it is Canon with digital purely due to the fact that so much has been invested in lenses.

Will Pentax survive, I think it will, so long as people like us continue to buy them.

Legacy lenses and the KP

I have just bought a KP, I have some legacy lenses [SMC M & A series] that I use with my LX. However I still cannot figure out how to achieve this, I connect the lens turn the dial to manual but am unable to set an f stop!

I must seem a bit dim, but I find the manual not much help.

I know that I will kick myself, but I could use some assistance, anybody.

Cheers
