Is K-3 being discontinued?

Well, maybe they are really forcing all stocks to Zero before importing, or issues on ports... What Ive heard is that they are not importing to US anymore (from a source), maybe a K-3 with NFC, Wifi and vari-angle LCD would be an upgrade along with minor hardware improvements - moving it to K-3 II and not jeopardizing Pentax FF... I am still on the hunt for a good price. I had it bought and they could not deliver (Abes of Maine), and Adorama does not have it now (just back order)....

Does anybody got new news?

Gents, does anybody know for sure if K-3 is being discontinued in USA or overseas? I am trying to buy it from Adorama, BH and manu others in USA and Canada and they have none in stock, and some do not know when they will have it again?

By the way, does anyone in US wants do sell me the body only?

:)

Regards! Up the Pentaxians!

Since I owned a MZ-30 in the past, then a K30, now a Fuji XE1... I could say Pentax ergonomics are really impressive, and XT1 even being WR the ergonomics still something apart to manage - slow. The K3 is actually a better buy to use along with the XE1

ScooterMaxi, that is a good review. Actually I am Pentax since 90's with film cameras, and I really enjoy it.

My point is: Fuji XE1 with Fujia 35mm f1.4, 18mm f2.0, and also Zeiss Jena 50mm f2.8 with adaptor gives me a great tool for indoors. But I feel the lack of outdoor shots without any concern on the weather, and that is where Pentax is king. So I won't buy glass that competes with Fuji's what I need is a supplement of my existing glass for outdoor. Personally I hate any kind of flash, and in my retired K30 I used to use ISO 1600 or even 3200 in BW straight from the camera and only occasionally used a TTL /Manual flash I had. The tricky point now is: K5 IIs or K3, and lens18-135mm or 55-300mm or 16-85mm. Being K3 an evolution, could it not fit all K5 IIs set of uses?

Something I forgot - edited - I always print, and hate post-processing that interferes too much on the shot . That is my final objective.
Thanks guys!

This is really a good discussion. I owned a K30 and sold it to buy a Fuji XE1 with a set of lenses, now I am about to buy a K5 IIs or K3, budged is not the point here, I do really need a WR camera for outdoor and my doubts are about K5 IIs versus K3 and KIT 18-135mm WR or DA 16-85mm f/3.5-5.6 ED DC WR or DA 18-270mm F3.5-6.3 ED SDM. I need to make a decision February, what do you guys say?

Yes, it does look like a prototype. Prism housing is big, along with strong grips in all sides and seems larger than a K5...

Good point Dan, that is true, and by the way do you know, or could indicate sources on how those "filter" on the camera works? Do you know if there is a post (sorry I haven't searched yet), or literature on adding filters to the camera? Thanks.

Thank you, but I really need to "think" B&W in order to shoot. I think this comes with my "35mm film" heritage.

Ricoh announces company name change - no more Pentax Ricoh Imaging, just Ricoh.

I really do not care on company name, just keep building this awesome hardware. I own Pentax cameras and lenses since 1998. If they change product name from Pentax to Ricoh, no problem, just keep K-Mount on it, since most of Pentax users still own it because of lenses heritage. I myself have 5 lenses and moved from MZ-30 to K-30, and will move up to K-5 IIs or higher level as soon as my pocket allows me.

I had this shot of my wife in B&W, JPG format without flashes. I had to use Photoshop to enhance (remove gaussian blur), and that is all.
