I have made the very difficult decision after 40 years of Pentax joy to move to micro 4/3.
I'm selling most of my Pentax gear and I'd like to offer it to the group I've been a member of for so long before putting it up on eBay.
All gear is in near perfect shape, most will ship in original packaging.
Get back to me with what you are interested in and what you would feel is a fair price and we can trade more photos and details.
Up for purchase are:

SOLD Pentax K3. $425 Shutter 3,696 Mfg 10/2013
SOLD Sigma 70-200 f2.8 (amazing photos from this lens) $450
SOLD Sigma 10-20 f3.5 $250

My favorite Old San Juan Garita
I had a diabolical master plan for getting these shots of my favorite Garita (guard shack) of Old San Juan. Not that they won't let you take pictures of them. They just won't let you climb out on the ramparts to get the best angle. What was in my favor is that this Garita, is the farthest from the entrance. So I showed up right when they opened in the morning and hoofed it up to the top of Castillo de San Cristóbal and started shooting. My hope was that the part rangers were still having their morning coffee and mallorca. It worked, because I never got caught or yelled at which is a first. It's not that I am doing any damage to the World Heritage Site that is the fort, it's that they don't want me falling to my death from the ramparts. I didn't....

Attached is the original RAW file and the Lightroom adjusted image.

The lens was my trusty A50 1.4 as you can see I underexposed the Garita in order to get some sky and sea in the extreme lighting. Knowing I could seriously pull down the highs and pump up the lows. This is a single exposure.

The K-3 is such a fantastic all around camera, compared to my ME-Super in 1979 its nothing short of magic.

With K-5IIs selling so cheap, should I buy a K-3?

I have both.
I'm keeping my K5IIs for a low light Camera and my K3 as my prime camera.

There is no question the K3 is great and if you have the money go for it. But if you are an available light shooter you can't beet the K5IIs.

K3 w/20-40Limited Oh that look.....

This photo isn't presented a as a great photo but as a test shot of my new K3 and 20-40 Limited. I feel this pair gives me that beautiful Pentax "Look" that I have a hard time to describe but see it instantly when I import my photos into Lightroom.

I could put together a bunch of photographic buzzwords trying to describe how this pair gives you something special but I'll just say how lucky I feel to have such a tool in my hands.

Oh Ya, the feel. It's one thing to take a beautiful image but to have the bonus of holding a beautiful object in your hands, feeling that precision and craftsmanship while you snap away is just wonderful.

Those of us in Pentax land are very lucky indeed!

I think it depends a bit on where you live.
I've had great luck with B&H
I'm in New England and I've always chosen basic free shipping and get my gear in a couple days. My K3 actually showed up the next day.

Funny you should ask.
Here's a pic I took with the Q and my oh so sweet 35Limited.
This is a laser cut metal tube for the medical industry that has been laser welded into an assembly.
The largest diameter tube in this photo is .025"
The wire coming out the end is only .008" in diameter.

Thanks everyone.

There's a reason there are so many flower photos. They are just too beautiful not to shoot!

Just a photo of a Mountain Laurel bush that I got from a nurseries rescue patch meaning I paid nothing for it if I would take care of it. Ten years later it is easily 6 feet in diameter and the flowers seam to come in huge bunches every other year. It flowers every year but the odd years are max flowers.

If you upgrade to an A lens think of going to the A50 1.4
You can get it between $80-$150 on Ebay.
I absolutely adore mine and it takes such beautiful photos.
The 1.4 f-stop gives you razor thin depth of field and when you hit it right, striking photos.
And your K5 can really take advantage of this lens.

Good luck.

I took my little Q to the Stone Pony in Asbury Park over the weekend for two shows with Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes.
Officially you can't bring an interchangeable lens camera into the building but they said nothing about my little Q.
I was keeping it in my back pocket and over the course of the night it hit the concrete floor twice. All I did was turn it on to see if it was broken and it started up fine.
When I woke up the next morning I went over the case of the camera and the 02 zoom lens and was unable to fine a mark on it.

Amazing little camera.

I've attached one shot from the night.

I don't have a definitive answer but I see two choices.
Turn off Shake Reduction if you are shooting with higher shutter speeds.
Set the focal length to 70 to average the effects.
I'm bought the lens when I had the istD and have used it on the K10D, K5, K01 and now the K5iis.
It's a nostalgia lens for me, not one of my go to lenses but its got that old build quality that is just great to hold and shoot with.

I can't speak to the 35-135.

I have the 35-105 f3.5 and the 28-135 f4

Of those two I recommend the 35-105. It routinely gives me rich saturated photos. I love it.

If you have the cash buy the 35-105 to go up against your new 35-135 and sell the one you like the least.
