Info required on P6x7 35mm Fisheye front lens cap

My Takumar 6x7 35mm has a plastic push-on cap with a marking on the inside of "6x7 C" and measures 100mm across. The outside top is the usual Takumar AOCO emblem.

(There was also a 6x7 type "A" and type "B" front lens cap, so you will need to search for "Type C".)

The latest version of this lens would have had a newer cap with just Pentax on it, but it will still be 100mm.

Pentax KX, sound like a good deal for beginner?

True the LX is a better overall camera than the KX/MX. However you can buy a KX & MX and have them both CLAed for the cost of one LX with a CLA.

That's what makes the cheaper to buy/service KX/MX more attractive to some people.

I have not been to South Korea, but if it's anything like Japan there is no problem. Looks of film shooters in Japan and it's sold all over the place.

There is a big different between graffiti and a wall mural. Many cities, including Vancouver, have mural festivals where the "artists" do the sides of buildings in specific areas. (With the buildings owners permission of course) Then people come down and view the murals during the festival and chat with the artists. NYC also has many wall mural areas where the art is protected.

This shot is from Melbourne a few years ago, in an area with many wall murals. (KX & K50/1.4 shooting Kodak E100VS)

Big difference between this shot and tagging.....

Probably a good time to read the user manual!

The Pentax 6x7 manual is not very good, so this is the link for the 67 one. The 67 functions the same as the 6x7.

In the manual for the Pentax 28/3.5 Shift, it's recommended using f/8 or f/11 for any shift work.

There was also a KM motor drive and both the KX & KM used the same MD II. Which probably is similar to the Spotmati MD.

My first "real" turntable was a Dual back in the mid 1970's, it lasted for years! Also had a Dual cassette desk as well.

Enjoy!

Phil.

PS "real" means a non all in one record player.

The list price of the K15/3.5 when it came out in 1975 was $599.95, a fair bit of money back then. ($2750 in today's dollars)

So no wonder not many were sold.

I have a copy of the 67 75/4.5 shift manual that I got from the Pentax web site. It's a big help in figuring out the various ways to use this lens.

Phil.

Yep I still have your old 67 45/4 and it's a great lens!

Yep there is a difference, but for some it does not matter. I've been an audiophile for decades and yes I have a high-end system.

If you are listening to "digital" music you downloaded then it's most likely compressed. (Unless you pay extra for flac)

CD's at least sound good, what most people listen to is not even close to the original sound a CD can produce. Of course if you don't have a good home sound system, then it really does not matter.

CD's and LP's sound "different" and one is not better than the other.
Film and digital look "different" and one is not better than the other.

The point is that you have a second "option" and can decide for yourself.

I frequently buy and listen to CD's & LP's and like both for different reasons, but would never says one is better than the other. (Note the new 180gram vinyl releases/re-releases sound superb)
I only shoot film, but would never says it's better than digital. It's just different and what I prefer. (New film emulations are also much better than previous ones and are also superb)

Yep I did many larger prints from my Kodachrome slides back in the 1970's up to 24x36 and they are beautiful!

Of course the printing process was different back then, as a MF sized inter-negative was created from the slide and the print done from that.

Yep until the K2DMD came out the previous motor drive cameras (Spotmatic, KX & KM) were a dedicated special order body with the motor drive couplings on the bottom. These bodies were rare and I've only seen one KX Motor Drive camera in person.

Filters do you use them & which ones and why & when???

Unless I'm doing indoor macro work I always use a filter.

For colour slide film it's a skylight filter most of the time and sometimes a warming filter (81A or 81B) or a LPL.

For b&w film a yellow or orange filter most of the time and sometimes a red or LPL.

I only use Pentax SMC or Schneider B+W MRC filters.
