I was waiting for an eBay item that had a departure scan only from the station.
Suddenly after four weeks in limbo multiple updates finally appeared.
It was delivered last week, more than one month after it was mailed.

To paraphrase another former president "Louie, your doing a heckuva job"...

When in doubt about spelling always add an E or an apostrophe.

Just kidding... ;)

Although sometimes when I quote OP in a reply I will add a [sic] after their misspelling...

Another "interesting" advertisment from Pentax.

I have thought about getting an SL, however an SP - with or without working meter - is more convenient to use
due to addition of combined meter switch/stopdown lever on body.
I often use DOF preview, and operating the A/M switch on lens is not the most convenient way to accomplish this.

Besides nice SL bodies are far harder to find and usually more expensive than nice SP bodies...

That has been my solution with other cameras that use the 625 mercury battery.
I have trouble keeping track of when the zinc-air cell was last replaced in each.
Choosing an OM-2 instead which uses 44/76/357 cells would eliminate that.

OM-1 is nice. I'd buy one but for the battery required.
So I'll probably wait for a nice OM-2n to come along...

Yes, they worked fine. I only needed a couple of packs, so I contacted Rodney
at Firstcall in UK who posted them economically by standard letter mail to USA.

Twenty years ago you could shoot cheap widely available Kodak or Fuji C41 color negative film and bring it to any of a number of local minilabs.

Today the only economical way to shoot film is to buy BW film and chemicals from an online photographic retailer and process it yourself at home.

Even my eBay item stuck in Sykesville MD since early December is being delivered today! :)

Until not too long ago 35mm film was ubiquitous, available from many Main/High Street retailers.
When it stopped selling discount sellers naturally discontinued this perishable product.

Like so many things film is now rather a boutique item.
Price is now whatever the market will bear, or the price nouveau film hipsters will pay.

The best prices are available from retailers who sell film in volume.
Suggest you check various online sellers.

Normally I buy my 35mm film online via mail order from Freestyle.
Recently I purchased 35mm Ektachrome film from Midwest Photo Exchange.

Occasionally when mail sorting equipment is serviced or moved I will find a long lost letter.

It is always dispatched, but sometimes I wonder if that's really a good idea.
If it contains a personal check and a replacement has since been written
remitter's account may now be overdrawn - with associated penalty fees.

Even today mention mail sorting and likely most people envision a roomful
of old grey-haired men casing mail i.e. stuffing envelopes into pigeonholes.

That photo is the ideal. It was not taken where I work. Maintenance and custodial staff have been cut dramatically and it shows,
at the sorting facility where I work and at the station where you mail your letters.

That is correct. However normally it is located adjacent to the printed address, often on the same label.
If one is damaged, defaced or missing likely the other one is too.

All mail including periodicals - we call them flats - are sorted by machine.

At my facility most flats are sorted by this machine, the AFSM100:

It's a complicated machine.
Sometimes a flat will miss the bucket in the carousel, fall between the conveyor rollers and wind up on the floor.

As with all types of our sorting machines a daily mail search is performed.
But there are plenty of hiding places under that machine and it is inevitable
that an occasional mailpiece is missed.

Mailpieces may arrived damaged; some may be damaged by the sorting machine.
If address label is missing, defaced or otherwise illegible mailpiece is undeliverable.

At my USPS facility normally all parcels received are sorted and dispatched within a day or two.
Due to the glut of packages this December I suspect some of the first in will be the last out.

Last year she gave me a hobo for the layout.

Funny story of camera disassembly

In the late 1970's a tech declined repair on my CB radio because he claimed it had dual sided pc boards.
Now circuit boards can have multiple layers. Those must be lots of fun to work on!

Modern electronic camera bodies use flexible circuit boards with surface mounted components;
I destroyed several of these by burning holes through a few even at the solder safe points.

Given inevitable electronic component failure without spare complete circuit boards
unlike mechanical models these cameras have a finite lifespan.

FedEx Home and Ground routes are operated by independent contractors.
In my experience quality of service is more variable than FedEx Express.
