Thank you!

Those pictures were taken at the "Kokerei Zeche Zollverein" in Essen.

Pentax Screw Mount Database

I have a couple of screwmount bodies here:

1) PENTAX S1a No.642761

2) Pentax SV No.865688

3) Pentax SV No.1910892

Notice, that the earlier SV has engraved "No." with the serial number, also has S1a.
Both SV have the red R marker.
All three cameras work with the light meter.

4) PENTAX SPOTMATIC black No.2340500

5) PENTAX ESII chrome No.6681911, unfortunately not in working order: the mirror hangs, and one has to unscrew the bottom plate to reset, I would call this a double screw mount camera :D

6) PENTAX ESII black No.6692023

The coating of the SPOTMATIC looks tarnished, whereas the black ESII looks pretty glossy. Did they use different lacquer over the course of time?

I've got an other "new" old lens to play with, arrived last week.

My impression is, that this thing can be sharp from toes to infinity and beyond...

I snatched a few lenses here to play with. The latest is SMC 1.4/50.

The Super-Tak 1.4 was pretty yellowed, when I received it about 3 months ago. It looked out of my window for most of the time and now the colorization is almost gone.

Browsed trough the whole thread of your nice gear and found the KM a bit underrepresented: I actually have 2 of them...

I've been in Italy with my pupils for a couple of days. I had a Kit-Zoom and the 105/2,8 in my travel bag. I thougt I could need the zoom to be fast and to have wide-angle for villages and so on. After one shot with the zoom I was bored - it did not have the tak appeal. The 105 stayed on the camera for the rest of the journey and instead of pics of old castles and villages I tried to get pics of my pupils. Few samples here:

I think I can speak for others, when I'm saying, that without pictures of statues and lovely japanese women this wonderful thread is missing it's specific rhythm.
Unfortunately the pic you posted is invisible to me.

Thank you! You are right, it is very informative...

Yay! I bought this yesterday in a very small town in a very small shop, paid 25 Euros. It reads 43812 on the A/M switch, so it should be the one. I've had the K-Version already, inside they look pretty much the same.
BTW, I like the very natural colors on your 135-samples.

Just curious: Your statues sometimes wear clothes, hats, scarfs etc. Is this a custom? It is a very nice side-effect of this thread for me living in Europe to see so many very good and interesting pictures of different parts of the world!

... String Instruments? I could contribute something...

Recently I won a SV with a lightmeter and attached was a Super-Takumar 1,8/55mm. Now I have the opportunity to compare this with my Super-Multi-Coated Takumar 1,8/55mm. This is my first comparison, so please have consideration for this. Probably nothing new for you Tak-Enthusiasts, but I found it quite interesting, how the lenses of the same family take such different pictures.

As you can see, the distance between "1.2" and "1.5" is wider on the Super-Multi-Coated-Tak, you can turn the focus ring a few degrees more.
The "2" is missing on the aperture ring.

Super-Multi-Coated Takumar 1,8/55mm@1,8

Super-Takumar 1,8/55@5,6

Super-Multi-Coated Takumar 1,8/55mm@5,6

Focus was on the "X". I left the white balance setting "auto" and let the camera and afterwards Rawtherapee decide, what the appropriate white balance could be.
My impression is, that the Super-Multi-Coated adds warmth to the picture, whereas te Super-Tak seems to be more clear and sharper. Those are 100% crops:

WOOOOW Nesster, Deadwolfbones, I love those pics with zillions of tonal values, wish I could do that, too!!

I finally received my 150/4 two days ago:

Yesterday I was on a horse show. It's difficult to focus, when someone is riding up. The photo looks a bit arranged, but I don't know the ladys (yet) and the horse neither. Luckily all three looked towards the camera that moment :)

Looks sharp to me! Did you use a tripod? I find it very difficult to focus and stay calm at slow speeds even with 105mm.

Wow, everybody gets new toys! Yes, life is hard, we have to make ourselves a present once in a while, and that while can be short sometimes... :)
@Richard: I am waiting for a 150/4, too.
@Kuuan: You have got a nice one, saw your pics on flickr. There is a very interesting string instrument on on of those pics.

This last post was truly emotional rollercoaster!!! First we got this advice, how to increase the pleasure of girl-watching. (When I think right about it, I am lowering my standards for more than 40 years now. But wait, isn't that misogynic? There are women in the club, at least one? Perhaps we should open an "misogynic expression" account somewhere and buy flowers once in a while :D )

Afterwards we saw those sad pictures of this painfully dying ape...

Here are some "neutral" pics taken with my new crown jewel:

K100d Super-Takumar 105/2,8

The last picture is 100% crop. I think the resolution of the lens is limited by the sensor here.

I've read a few postings of you in a german forum and have to say, that your advices and opinions are very congenial. Furthermore are your photos very impressive, especially your travel pictures. They are very individual and convey a special feeling for the different places.(Besides beeing sharp, well composed and exposed.)

When I was browsing the tak club, I noticed that many of your very fine shots had been taken with this 105 thingie, and I wanted to know what's it all about. At last I ended up at this bad, magic button that whispered "click me"...
Of course I could resist, at least for 10 or 11 seconds!

This thing that came today looks new. The seller even found a cheaper way of shipment than he originally calculated and refunded me a buck and a half! This business was pure pleasure, I'm still excited!

I'm pretty new to this forums and I'm enjoying it already very much. This is fascinating thread, seeing all those people so different!

I saw this woman waiting at the entrance of Gibraltar.
The second shot is not exactly street, so just skip it. :D
