Had a spare half hour or so earlier so popped down the road to the beach at the end of my village to test the DA* 60-250mm with the rear baffle out on the K1. In post all I have to do is hit lens correction and then add +29 vignetting to nuke the ever so slightly dark edges.

All these were taken at 200mm to 250mm so all top end of the zoom. These are not great images, poor light and a rush to capture then but wanted to see how the lens performed and what the vignetting was like with the baffle out. Anyone else thinking of getting this lens for the K1 i say do it, the baffle was less than a 5 minute job to do!

Just to give an update, the 60-250mm arrived today. Gave it a once over and played with the focus and all seems good so I went ahead and removed the baffle. Well that was an easy job and completed super quick!

I know the paper works but for my piece of mind I'd like get another baffle from Pentax and cut the offending bit out so the gubbins are better protected but before I do I just wanted to ask or make sure that re-adding the cylinder minus the lip part of the baffle doesn't affect further vignetteing etc.

Thanks! When you say the baffle without the cutout do you mean the blue top right of the attached image that was kindly posted here by Scorpio71GR?

I found this post here:
DA 60-250 replacement baffle - Page 2 - PentaxForums.com
Where Scorpio71GR had shared a STL file via his Google Drive for a baffle design for both the blue baffles.
There is a 3D printing outlet not to far from me I was going to approach with that STL file to see how much they'd charge me to make them both. I did read about dremmelling the lip away but I would rather get something 'as is' that I could just directly swap over.

Thanks in advance

Thanks both. I think I'll give baffle out a go first but ideally I'd like some baffle in there to keep the lens gubbins safer and not on show.

Bdery, do you still have the file with what the 3D printer would need?

Thanks.

I saw this test last night as I was researching baffles funnily enough, didn't know it was you!
Did you find with it out all together that there was any light or contrast issues?

Thanks.

Does anyone know anywhere in the UK where they do 3D printing of the rear baffle as I saw on here several versions but the best being the one with the square cut out of the baffle. Seems there was someone doing it a few years back but in the US.

Thanks.

Little update!
Ordered a new bulb direct from Lencarta for 32 delivered and it arrived today, put it in and we're in business so dodgy bulb.
Also the XPro trigger arrived and was pleasantly surprised when I turned it on and it found the AD200 straight away and life was good between the 2!

I watched a Brendan Van Son video where NiSi sent him one and he was like 'how did I ever cope without it as it's great' but I've already sold it on! Literally down the road from me is Formatt Hitech and they ran a comp where you had the chance to join a list to win the option to buy a mystery Fukubukuro lucky bag which could have up to 600 worth of filters in for 250. Had an email to say I had been lucky and picked and I've gone and done the purchase so it had to go to part fund that!

Yup, sausage on a long metal skewer, stand at the business end and a quick 5 seconds should do it!

Excellent thanks! Phew, as I ordered it before you replied!!
Just to get the bare bulb working now. The speedlight head is fine but the bare bulb refuses to fire but I was trying it at 1/64 power and not full power?

Got a Bowens mount on the way as well as a reflector and softbox :D

Just been booked to do a home shoot on Saturday so wouldn't mind taking it along to put it through its paces
