You're in manual mode and the cam is telling you that you're underexposing. Open aperture, increase ISO or lower shutter speed.

Is the Pentax D FA Macro 100mm WR the best macro option out there for my K1?

It's probably not for you, since you don't need the reach, but there is the A* 200/4 as well.
Reviews are kinda OK'ish!

I would say the D-FA 50 Macro might be what you want:

The 77 is really nice, as is the 100/2.8 macro.
All the Samyang lenses are great: 135/2 et. al.
Or you could get Leice R lenses and convert the mount to Pentax K. I used to use an old 90/2 and liked it quite a lot.

Or you could get them all! Happy shooting,

I think its better than the 14. It's newer in design and not so wide. I thinks it's less common because it's newer and now there is a lot more choice for manual wide angle lenses than when the 14 was new.

For landscapes and stars you don't need autofocus, for stars you do not want any coma.
Therefore I would recommend any of the manual Samyang lenses.

On m K3 I used the 16/2, now on my K1 I use the 20/1.8

I set it to "GPS time" and leave it there. So it's always on GMT, even though I'm in CET most of the time.

I use TPE (The Photographer's Ephemeris) as well. It allows me to calculate where the sun (or moon) will be at a given time and place.
Allows you to calculate when the sun will be behind a church tower when viewed from a specific location.
But you will have to visit the spot beforehand to select the exact position you want to take the shot from.

I have one and use it with the ELB400, two HS heads on the K-1.
Haven't done any serious shoots with it since I used the AC head with the normal trigger recently.

Tried it at home and is a very nice piece of gear, but bigger than the transmitter plus of course.
I tried times between 1/200 and 1/8000 with a standard reflector on a white wall and didn't encounter any problems.
Changing power levels via controller is easy.
Switching groups etc very easy as well.
But you can not change every setting from the ELB400 that you can change vie the menu on the ELB itself (like trigger delay or ready sound etc.). But thats OK with me.

What do you want to know?

Get a K/M/A 28 or a 35 (3.5 would be fine) and a 50/1.7. All you really need!

100 shots per battery seems rather low. Is it usually very cold where you're Shooting?
IBIS should be off by Default when you use MUP or self timer.
You could switch off the display when you don't temporarily don't use it.

More experienced users might have better tips.

I have a 67 kit with the latest 55/4 (the one from 1986, not the older one from 79). It is very good, but I use th 75AL and the 200 most of the time.
The 105 is very goot for Portraits, not very modern but very impressive!

I can't compare to the Hasselblad System, never used it.

What I've seen (at least in Germany), is that Prices go up for 67 gear. I got mine for 400, now they go for 800-900.
