Handheld.... click the photo and flickr has the shot details.... 1/1,000, iso 100 probally f2... maybe 1.8... getting focus is easy now in most light conditions... much much easier then when I had a S screen in my K5II with these lenses a few years back. I have a dedicated K1 with all the focus stuff turned off... so no confirmation, overlay etc. Nice clear vewfinder.

Roasting some coffee again..... whilst playing with SMC K85/1.8.... after much contemplating I decided Hitachi had to be the in focus eye for this shot (f2 or whatever one click closed is). New rule for me... if it doesn't have an eye.... but has some writing somewhere near a key area then get writing in focus.

and .... with recently installed S focus screen and tampa 1.22x viewfinder I'm nailing focus almost 100% of the time at f2 and below on the 50 and 85... a game changer for me (using focus peaking and rear screen took away the intimacy and enjoyment for me.... it's back now without having to go mirrorless)

Dunkin a yoyo in a cuppa..... just a part of everyday this way (South Australia)

Dunking Biscuits.jpg by Noel Leahy, on Flickr

You'd think I'd be a bit better at it by now.... yes... a biscuit was harmed in the taking of this shot.... should have warned you.... sorry.

More on south australias yoyo... https://australianfoodtimeline.com.au/yo-yo-biscuits/

And.... for real Australian tea.....place some water in the 'billy" and bring to the boil. Add tea and gum leaves .....remove from heat and stand for a bit . Swing the billy in big around the world loops a few times.... then serve with damper or bush biscuits whilst waving the flies away.

Should you do the billy swing wrong and spill it over yourself..... refill billy and start again.... and apologise to those waiting on their cuppa for the delay. Should people show concern for your burns.... just say, "shell be right, no worries".

A guy that use to be on this forum (Dcshooter) did my 50/1.2, 30/2.8 and 85/1.8 about 5 years ago... was to be my K walk around kit.

I used the 85/1.8 at 1.8 for the photos. I recently added a canon S focusing screen to my silver K1 and a tampa 1.2x viewfinder thingy so am having fun with it all again.

Limiteds - DA 21 or DA 70 as my next lens? As a treat to myself...

I just repurchased a 21..... best everyday apsc limited I reckon. I find the 70/77 rarely used if specific people type shots are not ones thing.... and then only for "organised" people or thing shots. My life is not like that.... when in those situations a zoom gives me more flexability. I might sell my 77... but somehow I would feel 1/3 less.... a bit like selling my brain..... I don't use it much but I expect it would be missed.

I find the 21 a everyday lens and the 15 a specialty lens.... as the focal lengths (FF equiv) have always been.

Nobody does that.

With limited resources, efforts (mostly) go into the ones that can be saved saved saved.

Ahem... it's a K. Only the best will do for Digitalis....

---------- Post added 25-03-20 at 07:52 PM ----------

I add a black hood (if possible) on silver lenses to visually tie it in to the camera.

I went through some pentax dress up fooling around today.

Making a silver 43 work on a black K1.... accessorise via a black hood to tie it all together

Similar with silver grip etc..

Now which looks better on the KP?

Standard hood on DA21?

or black hood?... I like this one...

These are the big issues I'm dealing with at home.

All shot with my SMC 85/1.8 at 1.8 with my K1 with S screen because it is fun...

Maybe we should use this as an opportunity to significantly alter peoples future health.

So... to do this we should immediately bring in a rule that no one that is 40yo or older and obese will receive treatment.... or anyone 30yo or older that smokes..... you get the idea........ we won't invest in you if you don't care to invest in yourself.... just joking off course.

Anyway, we let a whole lot of people off a cruise ship last week without any testing.... off course some were infected.... go figure.... far more unforgivable I reckon then some other stuff I've read.... seems to be a mixture of deliberate lies and plain stupidity at various levels...

I can't help but wonder, that if all the resources that we are deploying (or sacrificing economically) for this cause, mostly to protect the elderly or less healthy members of our society, were deployed against the less fortunate in third world countries to fight famine and disease etc..... it would return a 10 times extra "life lived return on effort"*. Off course, I know things don't work that way and as a whole and we place different value on others life.

* would $10,000 dollars spent on a 80 yo in a western country to give them 3 more years of life give a African 2yo 40 more years? I'd guess it could give five 2yo's 40 more years each.

This is THE best supporting reason to own many lenses and camera bodies.... so they can be rested between uses so the viruses die. I read something about 9 days.... so I need 9 cameras. Sandy must have known this all along.

So much creative stuff.......

Just processing tomatoes here....

And trying our results

Both SMC K 30/2.8 on K1.... I'm loving the canon S screen for manual focusing.

Turns out there is almost no difference in our life (both been retired for 10 years.... living ruralish).... always have lots of food on hand anyhow (we process about 140lbs of tomatoes as an example). I did stock up on pizza flour, wood and beer though.

99.99% of my shots are hand held.... I'll not think twice about a half day walk through the bush with it on a sling strap etc.... hung off the camera or the lens foot.... I'm almost 60.... landscapes or bees... walking for 4 hours with a tripod.... no thanks!

Generally, I'll only use a tripod where I might be waiting for something to happen in a particular spot.... like focussed on a well lit flower and waiting for a bird to feed on it.... could take an hour or so.

2MP crop from a K1.... 1/18 of the sensor.

Busy Bee at the Goolwa Community Garden by Noel Leahy, on Flickr

Generally.... when just bushwalking I take a small 20mm and a 43 and find that I don't look for other lenses.... I use a Voightlander color scopar 20mm.... both fit in a pocket.... I twist the camera off the 150-450 leaving it dangle on the sling then shoot with the 20/43.

I can't fathom how they would know the ammount of recovered cases..... as most that get serioisly ill would be known..... but many that get it and haven't presented themself for testing (because sysmtoms were not life threatening) couldn't be accounted for.... I guess this might be an order of magnitude when things ramp up in a country..... so real death rate might be much lower?

I'd always wondered if I'd had the flu..... got something I reckon in Turkey a few years ago (or on the trip back) which told be I had not had the flu before. But I still reckon I'd had man colds... not just everyday colds.

Now... on to the important stuff..... they reckon that alcohol (as in drinks) lowers your immune system for a bit. I need to know how much (in a day) is likely to make a difference? Would 2 to 3 standard drinks matter?

Never under estimate the Australian need "to vent" via humor of one type or another. Generally, when the crunch comes, they are the ones to rely on.... in a way.... it's a natural response ...... and keeps one sane enough to step up when needed..... rather then paralized with fear.

Off course, there is a time and place for most things.... and this is a social forum so a bit of both seriousness and humor probally work well.
