Folks - the OP's point has been amply made, and I don't feel further discussion will be beneficial. As such, I'm closing the thread.

If you're a potential buyer, please only make an offer to buy if you intend to follow through with the transaction. If it's absolutely unavoidable that you back out, please communicate properly with the seller and demonstrate good reason.

If you're a seller who has received and accepted an offer, it's safest to assume the deal is done only when you've received funds.

The right type of M42-to-K-mount adaptor

There are two types of M42-to-K-mount adaptor:

  • The Flange type

  • The Recessed type

Don't be like me and get the wrong type, which is the Flange type. While the flange type is cheap, is commonly available and the flange appears thin, it is still thick enough to prevent focus at infinity.

Get the recessed type. I've got a "Roxsen" 3rd-party version. This is very easy to fit on a K100D Super body, but I find it is difficult to fit or remove this quickly on a K20D. The genuine Pentax M42 recessed adaptor is reported to be easier to fit compared to 3rd-party adaptors.

Here's some pictures I took showing the difference between the two M42-to-K-mount adaptors.

Recessed-type adapter plus insertion/removal key on left – Flange-type on right. Both showing the side that fits to the camera:

Groups less than 10! Regardless of whether they’re part of your household? That seems strange/arbitrary.Might not be effective in stopping the spread.

Thematic Into the Fog - Show Your Fog Shots

I took this in January and it's my first attempt at the Orton effect. I'm not sure I like it but it does lighten the image compared to the original without blowing the highlights. Slight blue cast to it and the trees don't look natural.

Grasmere in the Lake District.
