That's really awesome ... thanks a lot for your images. Many ideas there !

Since I am "lockdowned" in Poitiers until the end of April, I am going to play about with my collection and post a few images. This thread deserves a bit more attention.

Bonjour y'all ...

Just a quick drop-by to say "hi" and to let everyone know that we are fine in Poitiers.

One week of confinement under the belt and it looks like we will have five more to do (minimum until the end of April) ... the news was just announced.

Luckily we have a big garden and can walk a bit in the neighborhood where there's almost zero traffic ... we are nearly at the end of our cul-de-sac street.

Hope that all are well here and stay well, too. Cheers & hang in there, J

Thanks ... this is good to know about Tokina.

I bought a 7Artisans 35/1.2 just before I found a super nice used XF 35/1.4 at my local B&M shop. I never really put the f/1.2 through its paces in a correct manner. I would like to get out, but we are on CV lockdown in France ... and my wife doesn't now even want me to go out and get the baguettes. If the sun comes back soon, maybe some garden images for here as f/1.2 samples.

An oldie, but goodie ... a bit of lighter fuild on a brown paper containing dog doo ... light, ring doorbell, run & hide then laugh while it's being stamped out.

It was great "Okie" kid fun ... plus water ballooning passing cars.

My gosh  ... the millions of dollars that I squandered in my youth at Tulsa while midnight "TP-ing" my friends and enemies homes.

Millions I tell you ... MILLIONS !!!

Yes, a good bit. I was recently volunteered to be the "Responsable" of the darkroom.

Last year, it and just me and Régis using it all. I used the Durst M601 most of the time ... since I have the same in my home. This fall, I used a bit more my silver Krokus 69 to print some MF. It is in the club's lab because I needed to make space to paint/finish electricity in my home darkroom. I develop my film at home. This weekend I tested (6X6 neg) the club's donated Krokus 69 and it works fine now.

I have also "recruited" for the club's darkroom ... two friends that were with me at a previous darkroom run by an association until they closed it to make a photcopier room. And word-of-mouth apparently got around, since we've had a few inquiries and several truly new members, too ... a Minolta SRT 101 shooter ... plus a mother and teenage daughter duo.

I taught the daughter how to develop B&W film in the lab last month and I oversaw them this last weekend while they printed the 135 that they developed previously. The mother used to develop and print long ago, but she had forgotten a lot and needed a refresher course, etc.

Cheers, J

Just for fun and x-post from the "recent acquisitions" thread ... happy camper.

"On the right, a nearly new in the box Krokus 69 enlarger with a Nikkor 50/4 lens, plus filters, trays, paper, tongs, bottle, and bulbs ... all for 30€ purchased in Poitiers via "Le Bon Coin" site. I also purchased a mint Canon AE-1 Program with a FD 50/1.8 plus case for 20€ from the same person. I will post the Canon later.

Here, my new Krokus 69 (again on the right) is in my photo club's darkroom. I was looking for parts for the Krokus 69 in the middle of this image. It was donated to the club last month and I repaired it plus cleaned it up a lot ... it was stored in a barn with a Krokus 44 enlarger (also donated) which is just a pile of parts, unfortunately.

I was looking for missing/replacement parts for the club's Krokus 69 ... a missing filter support tray and a broken glass plane in negative holder. So, I stumbled upon the my Krokus 69 ... now I can fabricate a filter tray for the club and replace the broken glass because there's an extra piece with my Krokus.

The silver Krokus 69 on the left is mine and loaned to the club while I paint and finish my home darkroom."

Here's some more images of our darkroom ... there's a seperate small room for total darkness film loading, etc.

My 9th grade daughter told this one at the dinner table last week ...

A pirate and his parrot walk into a bar. The pirate orders a beer and the parrot says, a "Coke".

The bartender sevres the beer and says, "We don't serve Coke."

The next day the pirate and parrot go into the same bar. The pirate orders a beer and the parrot says, a "Coke".

The bartender sevres the beer and says, "I told you yesterday, we don't serve Coke."

The third day, the pirate and parrot go into the same bar. The pirate orders a beer and the parrot says, a "Coke".

The bartender sevres the beer and says, "If you ask for a Coke again, I am going to nail you to that cross on the wall."

The fourth day, the pirate and parrot go into the same bar. The pirate orders a beer and the parrot says, a "Coke".

The bartender grabs the parrot and nails him to the cross.

The parrot then turns his head toward Christ and says, "So you ordered a Coke, too"

Joining up and will translate a few of the better ones that I know ... and many in French won't translate well. Too bad ("tant pis").

What do you call someone who speaks three languages? ... trilingual.

What do you call someone who speaks two languages? ... bilingual.

What do you call someone who speaks one language? ... French.
