cataract and dominant eye

Another problem, the diopter adjustment is all over the place.
It is optimised for my left eye with glasses, my current glasses are useless with my right eye, my right eye without glasses will need a new diopter setting.
Hmm , the same problem with my laptops....
With glasses my left eye ok, the right totally out of focus.
Without glasse , the right eye very good ( laptops / TV , not for close ups) , left eye out of focus.
So should I just stop my life for 8 weeks??

cataract and dominant eye

I started gradually losing sight in my right eye.
My left eye was always dominate and used for taking photos.
Last THU the cataract was removed from my right eye.
Still have some bright flashes and image is bluish but hey, the image is incredibly bright and vibrant so...
Now I realised that my left eye image looks dull will need to have an operation , the lens needs to be replaced but in the meantime what is the best way of dealing with the current situation?
I need to wait 4 weeks for my right eye to fully recover then I could do my left eye operation.
I do not have the dominant eye any more , should I change to my right eye for taking photos, it feels not right?
Anyone went through this , any advice?
Or I just should stop taking photos till my left eye will get fixed ( 8 weeks + ) ?

I do have D-BG7, always use it with 109 batteries as I have a number of spares, 90's are reserved for the larger bodies.
I use it occasionally.

kind regards

I never leave house without my classic Leatherman, not in my camera bag but on my jeans belt.
It did serve me well for nearly 40 years, it still looks and perform like brand new.

I had a pleasure to be a passenger in one of those years ago.
The most enjoyable / comfortable car to drive.
The worst car to service and repair.
The single complex hydraulic system , everything important was connected to it, and it did save Charles De Gaulle's live.

photos of new born babies

Dear All,

I was asked to take some photos of the new born baby by my neighbour / care taker in my apartment ( baby due JAN 2019).
That would be the first time in the digital photography for me ( my kids are 30+ and no grandkids so far).
I have K-1 and a number of cropped bodies, should I consider LED lights / the cube or flashes , those might get baby uncomfortable.
I have wide range of lenses.
Any advice would be very helpful.

kind regards
jack

2X converter

I have 2x PKA AF teleconverter, never use it, you would need very fast, expensive and large lenses to use it. It is Tamron 2x SP (FF compatible).
Kenko 2x MC7 DG AF Teleplus 2X Magnification Lens Reviews - Miscellaneous Lenses - Pentax Lens Review Database
1.4x PKA AF teleconverter much more useful with modern lenses.
good and well priced, only used available and hard to find (FF compatible)
Tamron-F 1.4X Pz-AF MC4 Lens Reviews - Miscellaneous Lenses - Pentax Lens Review Database
very good but expensive ( compatible with crop sensor only)
Pentax DA Teleconverters - Lens Reviews and Specifications - SLR and Interchangeable Lenses - Pentax Lens Reviews & Lens Database
1.7x PKA with build in AF very useful with old fast non AF primes , only used available and hard to find (FF compatible)

I have 2 old Pentax flashes:
AF200T and AF280T they both have round socket in the front with a green surround.
I just discovered that AF200S has a similar socket but with a red surround.
Is there any significant functionality differences between those two colours?
What are they for, 2.5mm jack is way too big?

Pentax MX-1 filter

it should work,
the filter adapter is 58mm so it will fit to the base of the lens, the moving parts are smaller in the middle.
The lens cap should fit the front of the adapter.

Well, I have K-01 , K-5IIs , K-3 , K-3II and K-1.
Most my batteries have 3 contacts but some have 4.
I keep swapping them around without any issues so fourth contact has no purpose to do exist.
Chargers and grips have three contacts only, camera bodies have just two contacts.
