Lens Filters

If you are not developing your own film then you may want to try one of the c-41 b&w films. Like Kodak BW400cn. You can have it processed about anywhere. It doesn't have anywhere near the lattitude of proper b&w film if you dev it yourself but it is still pretty good. It would also depend on your choice of camera's top shutter speed. I shoot a lot with old folders with a top speed of 500th sec so 400 film is somewhat limiting in daylight. although I can rate the bw400cn at 250 and still get acceptable results. The problem I have with traditional b&w film if I'm not deving myself is the expense and hit and miss quality of supposed pro labs anymore. And prints from some pro labs from B&W can vary greatly. ( I just picked up some green and white and reddish and white prints from a lab in Memphis last week that were SUPPOSED to be B&W )

I'm with Jussi on choice of filters. A yellow filter lives on my B&W cams with a polarizer added often. with occasional use of Yellow orange and once in a while red. Yellow green is my choice for portraits but I don't often do them.

I think you are in for a bit of a treat :)

Historical settings like that always appeal to me. I'm afraid in my neighborhood there isn't much to look at over 200 years old.

If you had 4 cactus v5s and placed one receiver on channel 2 and one on channel 3 and one on channel 4 and the remaining one is the transmittter on channel 1 all three recievers will fire. If the transmitter is on channel 2 only the receiver set to channel 2 will fire. If the transmitter is set on channel 3 only the receiver set to channel 3 will fire .

Also set the channels after each unit is set to TX or RX then press the test button on the transmiter. Do this while the camera is off. After pressing the the test button then turn the camera on.

Yep the foliage looked a bit pale for me too. Especially if they don't produce a little berry. Sorry :(

I didn't realize this about the J-12's . That last shot with it has a nice crispness to it. I really like the fov of 35mm on film but it's a focul length I don,t have covered very well. ( That means I need more lenses) :) I've never had a Kiev but they seem to produce nice results. I don't mind a few idiosynchrasies ( My old Retina 11a is still one of my favorites) in a camera as long as it produces nice results :)

I find it to be my most used zoom ! not much bigger than most of my fast 50's with just a little room for changing the framing of a shot if needed. And on the odd occasion I actually need AF it's pretty quick for a screw drive ! And as a plus it has excellent contrast on film bodies if that's my thing that day :)

Interesting that Firefighters would wear polyester? Maybe off duty ? When welding this is a no no as melted polyester melts into the skin ! But the shirt you picture is very very nice ! The logo isn't over the top and really adds to the shirts look !

Looks like a winner to me

I'm not sure how the K5 works but on my Kx I set it to record RAW and Jpeg then set the jpeg to BW. That way I still have the raw file in color if needed. But it fill up cards faster :)

I'm not sure any 28mm is going to outshine the old F-28. I imagine you would have to go to something like the 31limited . I wouldn't abandon the 35/3.5 completely. If you get a chance to try a different copy I would do it without reservation, many of the shots I've seen with these have been quite sharp, and very contrasty.

My Kx is getting a good collection of particles now that it is 2 years old and I've been considering a blower but was wondering about it moving particles onto the mirror and focusing screen. Any issues with this ?
