FA 50 F1.4 or A 50 F1.7?

Creative use you have a point, but I find I get less keepers on my A50 1.4 than my M50 1.7. The 1.7 just has more utilitarian rendering, but of course YMMV.

But just go for the FA43 1.9 and forget about the others :D

Anything 1.4 from the 90s or earlier will be comparitively low contrast and soft, even at the same fstop as a 1.7/1.8 lens. Keep that in mind. You're paying for more light transmission and subjectively better bokeh.

To be honest that FA 50 is getting close to FA 43 territory too which is an absolutely amazing lens, and one I'd pick in a heartbeat.

Some wierd spots on my lens

Just don't leave the lens in a dark moist place. Your camera bag is usually a bad place for lenses since it can give the conditions for fungus to thrive. The fungus on that lens however likely won't continue to grow as long as you starve it of ideal conditions, a lens isn't exactly a hospitable place for living organisms.

Don't be afraid to trash junk photos, try to find things that you enjoy and scrap the rest. You have some good shots in there.

Been some breaks in the rain, so I've been trying to take advantage with my FA 43.

The unique rendering without giving up performance really is something else.

Poll: Primes and Zooms... where do Pentaxians stand in 2018?

My zooms see next to no use, so I'd probably pick a prime. Out of the primes I own it'd be the FA 43. If it could be a prime I plan to own it'd be the Samyang 135 as I feel 135 is the most utilitarian focal length for what I do.

Shooting Only Manual Focus Lenses Makes Me "Futureproof"

I swap between manual and autofocus all the time on my modern lenses. Autofocus is great for getting the shot, but it doesn't know exactly what you want to focus on 100% of the time.

The pentax M 200mm F4. I've owned 2 mint condition copies of this lens and I just can not get images I like out of it at all. I do intend to sell mine at one point, it's honestly one of the best condition lenses I have.

Also not a big fan of the A50 1.4. It takes nice shots, but they're not incredibly appealing compared to even my broken M 50 1.7.

My 20 dollar as is Tamron 17-50 I got from KEH. Front element is scratched to hell, barrel is super wobbly, elements rub inside it, but it still takes very nice pictures.

I don't use it as much anymore so it doesn't completely fall apart, it's nice for stuff around the house since it focuses close.

I don't think you're going to change lenses as often as you think you will. 20-40+77 is probably all you need, I doubt you'd need anything longer or wider.

The DA 40 is so small that you can take it with any kit and be ok. I do think the DA 40 feels substantially different in rendering compared to most other lenses in the range, including my FA 43.
Personally I think that DA 50 should ultimately be replaced with an FA 43 if you ask me :D

Fstoppers - "Lens compression doesn't exist"

Hundreds of years of photographers didn't have access to a centralized point of data known as the internet. I'm self taught on a lot of astronomy, I think I know quite a lot about it since it's my passion. However I didn't need to go outside with a telescope to rediscover the planets or rediscover the math behind their motions in the sky.

F-Stoppers do it again ... now the DoF myth.

Then what the video is saying is pretty useless. You still effectively get thinner DoF for the same FoV; whether or not you can get the same picture through a panorama is irreverent because that isn't practical most of the time.
The big problem with their presentation is instead of making it a lesson about DoF (which would be useful and interesting), they made it about semantics and clickbait.

My Samyang 14mm focused so far past infinity that I'm having it serviced since it's really hard to tell what's in focus on that lens. Tbh most of my lenses focus at infinity.
