good frame and scene, i'd suggest some post processing to bring out the color shades and gradiations more. it would also work well in black and white IMO

a K10D mode dial error
Posted By jani

something seems to be wrong with the mode dial positions, when its turned to M, it still shows Bulb Exposure (which is right next to Manual on dial). so theres basically 2 positions of it for Bulb. only position where it switches to Manual mode is when the dial is between M and TAv positions. i discovered this error recently and it wasnt there before. i wonder what went wrong and how to fix it?
thanks for your ideas.

lens vignetting profiles

thanks, i will try that too.
i've been testing DxO and it does quite good job on my files. vignetting and distortions are completely eliminated. except for CA, which is not completely fixed so i think the best solution is to correct that later in ACR. also it sharpens a bit too much for my taste, resulting in increased noise. but thats easy to correct with reducing lens softness correction to about -0,9.
i wish they would add more pentax lenses aswell, fortunately mines were in the list.

yeah you can but the problem is that photos have different level of vignetting so one setting is not suitable for all.

no ideas on this?
ok, let me rephrase.
what are you all using for raw processing? what do you think is the best way to get rid of color fringing and and vignetting on a large number of photos?

i am wondering if there are any presets or profiles for pentax lenses to correct vignetting and fringing in RAW post processing? of course the distortions differ depending of the focal lens and aperture so i havent gotten it quite precise on all the shots with manual adjustments.
i am using the latest adobe camera raw, unfortunately cant test the pentax raw software right now since i dont have the cd with me.

thanks but this havent happened to me before. sure, its normal to have fog on lens when i change environments, but this time its INSIDE the lens and it wasnt there before. it must have gotten there when i was cleaning the lens with the cleaning liquid. i need to get it out of there, but how?

it condensates inside to the middle of the front element, creating a blurry spot.

what to do?

i have a little bag of silica gel that came with the lens. should i keep the lens in warm or cold? should i open the bag of silica or it works inside bag?

thanks for your suggestions.

you should try Photomatix for hdr, its best IMO.
as for raw, you could get good hdr result with jpeg aswell. theres very little or no difference visible on such small size
