I hate doing this...but it appears that I am not gonna be able to sell my Canon kit that I have on here for what I need to get out of it so I am forced to sell my Pentax equipment.

What I'm looking for in a trade: A wide angle and fast prime Canon EOS lens. Must be in good condition and sharp. Something along the lines of 10-20mm, 12-24mm, and 50/1.8 come to mind.

So...

For sale or trade I have a White Pentax K-x with the white 18-55 kit lens. Both in perfect condition. No marks anywhere that I can see. The lens will come with a Hoya UV and CPL. The camera has less than 2000 shutter activations on it. I think it is pretty close to 1300 if I'm not mistaken. Included will also be the original box and anything that was included with it plus an 8GB PNY mini SD card with SD adapter. I can also throw in another 2GB mini SD. $450 or best offer NOW TAKING OFFERS ON THE K-X KIT!

I will send pictures individually to those interested. Please direct any questions to PM's as I probably won't check back here unless I see I have a PM.

I'm not huge on government and politics but I would assume stuff like this is frowned upon by all countries...even if no one is harmed in the end. But I think the fact that everyone knows Iran has some nukes hidden around somewhere strikes fear into everyone. I think if there ever was a WWIII, it would be because Iran sent off nuke or some other type of missile toward another country

That's what I read after I found that out, but if you check out the ebay community forums there are several people on there just from reading the first few pages of a thread pointed directly at paypal holding funds for 21 days....some of them say that even with a tracking number as proof of delivery and positive feedback that paypal still holds on to the money sometimes for the full 21 days....I just don't see it as being right...when you go into a store and purchase something they get their money right away...do they not?

I forgot to post this and this probably isn't even the correct place to post it but I noticed last night after doing a bulb exposure I couldn't get the image to pop up on the LCD on back for a review and couldn't get any other buttons to work at all...not even the red LED on back that shows you something is being written to the card was going. Anyone else ever experience this?

I wanted to try and venture into doing some night landscapes and whatnot. I do not have the remote for my K-x but was hoping there was a way to make a homemade shutter release cable. If so can someone please link me?

Anywho...

I tried a shot at a local lake that I fish at...wasn't really going for artistic or really anything else...more or less just wanted to see what time of shutter speed I would need in these lighting conditions...I did this shot with a 30 second shutter....it's a little dark...but I didn't want to fool with bulb without the remote or a cable. I tried bringing up the exposure in the raw program I use but it made a crazy amount of noise appear. I used ISO 800...not really sure why. But here is the result. I'd like tips from anyone experienced with this.

Yes I am aware the horizon is off axis...but as I said I'm not posting this to win any awards...just a test shot.

I think it only happens when they choose the payment type as an ebay goods payment...but the seller refused to let me refund his money so he could send it as a personal payment which is cleared right away.

And yes Russel...I could sell my Canon equipment here....but I don't think anyone will pay what I have to get out of it.

I have 2 camera bodies currently. My K-x and a Canon 1D.

The K-x is a nice camera...I have the kit lens and now a DA 70 to use with it.

The Canon 1D has a 70-300 lens...which is actually quite sharper than it should be for the price I see them selling for on ebay.

Anywho....

I posted my 1D and everything that I have for it on ebay because I wanted some cash and I REALLY can't afford to be buying lenses for both bodies. I sold the body for what I wanted a few days ago. The buyer paid me via paypal which was fine...but apparently ebay and paypal have changed their policy for sellers accepting money since I last used it. They want to hold my money for 21 days. This to me is just stupid. Why should I have to ship out an item to a buyer so they can fool with it for 21 days before I get my money? Should they break it in some way all they would have to do is claim that it was broken on arrival and then paypal would most likely give back their money and I would get a broken camera in return.

I tried to explain to the buyer that they would hold my money but if he would send the payment as a personal payment instead of an ebay goods payment it would clear sooner and I would be fine with that. He refused.

I really would like some extra cash but it doesn't seem like I am going to be able to get it by selling the Canon.

I was wondering if you guys think I should cash out and sell my Pentax gear instead? I know I can sell it all....but how much would I be looking at losing in what I have? I bought the K-x kit new for just over $500 and the DA 70 I got a steal on for around $400

Well thanks Adam. I wouldn't say it's a macro...the flower was quite large actually...probably almost the size of a baseball. You don't think the DOF is too narrow? That's what I was wondering about mostly because I shot it at F2.4 and was pretty much at the minimum focus distance that the DA 70 has.

This is also a crop. I took off a bunch of dead space around the outside. I cropped it so that the stem of the flower led to roughly the center of the frame. I hope that was the best thing to do.

First attempt at shooting a flower. How does this look?

Just found out what this is. This is a Daylily. The reason it is called a Daylily is because each flower only lasts for one day. There are 4-5 flowers on each tall stalk

Yea I looked long and hard for this one and only spent $375. The reason his nose is against the edge of the frame is cause my mom was sitting beside him and she was wearing a plaid dress so I didn't want the background to be too busy and take away from the subject.

Yes I did a bit of PP...more than I usually do on BW photos actually. I started off by converting it to BW then I messed with the shadows/highlights...which I never usually do. I think the contrasty look comes from the high pass filter method of sharpening I did...I think I just overdid it a bit. Here is a re-edit. Very quickly done but tell me if this one works better.

Finally got a DA 70 late last week...been wanting this lens forever. Used it at a family bday party today and just messed with it. This picture is of my cousin. He looked like he was deep in though..his expression made me think that he was thinking of his dad...who passed away last year. I did the BW conversion to give it a little more "feeling"

What do you think?

Between my cousin and myself we took over 800 pics yesterday at the air show. He had never used a DSLR before yesterday so I had to set it up in program mode and a lot of what he took wasn't usable because of the back lit sky. Even still he had a few keepers...one or two of these I shot myself cause I wanted to make sure I got a good one but a majority are ones he took. In all honesty I think he had almost as many pictures of girls asses as he did airplanes

Also...deviantart is not working for me so I'm just linking them from my facebook account....so they may be a little smaller than intended. And I'm not looking for critique on these. Just sharing.
