sounds like a good plan! checked out a simple dof calculator 135mm @ 50 ft on full frame set at f/5.6 has 14ft+/-.......6ft in front (should get the ball) and 8ft back (entire body of bowler).....should yield nice results focused at the foul line.....look forward to future results! good luck & happy shooting!

first off got it used for the 28-80 & 80-320 lenses for so called kit lenses for the K-1 and did not intend to shoot film......well alas the film bug has gotten me so threw a 24exp roll in to give it a whirl....loaded up fine and first 2 shots went well and advanced accordingly.....however on the next 2 exposures something funky started happening as I would take the shot it 'acted' like it was taking multiple exposures/bracketing whatever. it would take a few moments to finish whatever it was doing and numerically advance the frame count by 2 (or 3 maybe)....the lever was on single frame (did not take immediate note on the lcd screen)...well this behavior continued for the entire roll and eventually I noted during that time the lcd would not display any indication of single, multiple or timer.....so screw it I finished the roll out despite I may get half the shots if any at all......well, after removing the roll, removed the battery grip and replaced it (did that during the course of the roll as well) figured I would fire it and see it if kept acting up....well it did and behaved the same like taking multiple shots but now....the screen in the viewfinder is completely blank and constantly tries to auto focus and will not complete its 'task' to reset to fire again......I do not think this is the mirror gear as the mirror has returned to its resting position...have experienced that problem with a ZX-L......this is a different animal/anomaly.....not a big loss but a disappointment wanting to shoot film. it can sit on the shelf as a participation trophy with the 28-80 mounted on it.....still have other film bodies to play with as well......reckon I am wondering of a possible fix or just set it on the shelf.....thanks

IR shutter system of KX stopped responding in cold- solutions?

have not shot in that cold of weather....chilly but not freezing! …….my experience has been either the remote has gone bad or more typically the remote battery has...generally if an issue arises I replace the remote battery and good to go...more often than not the camera battery dies on me in cold weather during interval shooting

maybe no impact on lenses (yet) but the K-1000 is going crazy because of celebrity influence whether or not it will translate to those folks buying lenses different story as its a current trend to have the 'vintage' body they have

SMC F 28-80 and FA 80-320?

can't compare but have the 28-80 & 80-320 from a zx-50 'kit' so I can have a 'kit' for the K-1 (like the 18-55/50-200 for asp-c)...….have mostly used the 80-320 and think its a fine lens

they are nice to have with the aperture ring as I could use them on an old ME body and my K-50 that has suffered aperture block

not a bad idea.....did the 27 to 52 step ring for rubber hood & cap already in house.....when something isn't on it my fingers tend to gravitate right to the glass....ugh

Wide angle lens for K-3 II

there's a wide variety to choose from.....a few and mostly at the low cost end

zoom: DAL 18-55kit ( a fine underrated lens) and promaster 19-35 spectrum 7 (FF but do use on K-3ii & K-50) having the aperture ring is nice since the K-50 has the aperture failure......both offer AF/MF and are typically of low cost

prime: bower/rokinon 14/f2.8 'a' (MF), zenitar 16f2.8 fisheye (MF) and not very fishy on asp-c, DA21ltd (AF), cosina 24/f2.8 (MF)'macro' from there its 28, 35 and 40.....

Pentax K1 II lens in crop mode - is it good or bad?

I love it!! did a few shots the other day with the 40XS on the K-1.....fantastic!

also took the da 21ltd for a ride....the image circle looks so weird but cropping works so no reason to change from FF to crop

have no other DA but the kit zooms but have the FA kit versions so have not tried that

good bad? reckon I do not know since I have not tried it.....just taking up space....the 40XS is what got me to a babbling

small and semi versatile...…the af-201fg would seem the fit you are looking for.....I believe there is a godox of similar size only 2 'aa' batteries but do not know the model

I really like the af360fgz its the one I mount majority of the time...….

the guess would be T2 mount that 35mm said......being a preset good chance it has several blades making it a so called 'bokeh monster'......certainly worth a spin with a T2 to PK adapter

was checking out the da-40-xs on the ZX-L and the mirror has not dropped..will not drop......was in Av mode f2.8 and last I saw Tv at 1/750...
there is no film in it....have pressed every button turned off/on, removed batteries....
I do hear a temporary whining with no action......reckon the little plastic motor gear went out...
but maybe (hopefully) something else?

thanks

have the newer for the K-3ii and functions just fine...has all the same features the oem grip I have for the K-1 (got it in a bundle otherwise would have bought the newer for it as well).....minus a 'bracket' for a strap and the sealing...…maybe not as 'solid' but it ain't 'flimsy' either
very satisfied with the savings and functionality I got/get with the neewer grip...….both have trays for 'aa' & Li-90 with SD card holder

Astro landscapes with K-1 - astrotracer or stack?
Posted By Aaron28

I use a variety of lenses......bower 14/f2.8 (same as your rokinon), promaster 19-35 spectrum7, cosina 24/f2.8, sears 28/f2.8, jc penny 28/f2.8, fa 35/f2, fa 50/1.4.....all lenses but the sears are of the 'a' variety.....the longer the FL the less pronounced the dark edges/coma from astrotracer use on the K-1…...but I have had a lousy year weather wise to really use the K-1 and get familiar with it like the experience I have using the K-3ii or K-50....I stack several astrotracer shots, mask with the landscape shots and stitch it with ICE but my post skills suck but have improved over a few seasons of milky way/astro shooting...….I have only printed one 16x20 which basically cropped out most of the coma and that was only a 2 frame composite with the bower 14/f2.8 & K-3ii
if I were still living in south jersey I would love to hit up Batsto, chatsworth, reckon anything bass river, pine barrens in the spring and hit up the south coast later in the summer

good luck and clear skies!

still has 6 blades the only 'drawback' of the fa-35...…
reckon it depends on which coatings you think render a better image and if you want a virgin versus something that's been around the block.....

What lens for this shot?

this for sure....

also...
I think you already have the OOF behind the bowler but the seating and scoring bench are highly reflective hard plastic which seem to define their outline.....maybe feather the lighting to lessen the light spill.....I like the 2 flash reflection on/in the ball but the 2/4 light reflection on the seat not so much (jacket or some kinda product gear)

be nice for both eyes of the bowler although but not everyone slings the same and the straight up perspective is neat.....not sure but maybe key light ofc righties for righties and opposite for lefties

for a different lens longer would suit you better as your already covered at the normal to wide.....what you said about compression would certainly come into play
