So where does the Q go from here?

I want a Pro Q, with 2 control dials.
A flippy screen would be awesome, with a little pen to be housed in the body ... I fear such a tiny screen is difficult to tap at the exact right point with my finger. That is, when it comes to like: touch to focus and shoot. And then in processing the picture I could scribble my lyrics at the bottom of the picture or elsewhere and it would be perfect. A whole new quality q world it would be.
And I really want a high quality macro-tele. 200mm equivalent.
When I feel down and stupid, not worthy of a real tool, I comfort my Q, that it comforts me so, that we are such a match.
Gosh, and I do feel great then.
That's why I want a Pro Q.

Have fun!

----- Thanks.

... And all want to be crowned golden servants in the kingdom of the only king, but diversions and faltering self-confidence distract and lead away.
I hide in silence to overcome my lack of means and ability: I glorify in my own realm and use my joy of all that I can see to fight to translate into images the story I saw. Within those limitations, the golden servants matter no more. Only the joy and fight for reproducing just that.

Oh well. I liked your post.

Official info about the new 08 wide zoom for Q

Q starts, where how it should or is supposed to be, ends.
That is exactly where at last I am free.
Now let me take that into a wider perspective.
Zooming through my autistic world with a 08.
My average Q use, silent and impressionistic.

Nothing as fabulous as any of all these great pictures.
Just a simple document. With tiny Q.
This is taken about 72 hours after, major brain surgery, to remove a large brain tumor, my son.

I have the black q which I use with 01 a lot. It is always with me and so are its batteries ...
No need for a viewfinder, no adapters, no non-native lenses, just q's.
That is, for now. But I just acquired a backpack to allow me to carry a sturdy tripod ... for my q ... with adapter ... and bloody heavy lens ... I've gone insane.
That's it. And the 02 and 06 (which by the way is fine, rather nice at the tele end. I like it). And the 03, which with the peaking is now working fine for me.
Yeah, true q love, it is just somehow not rubbish.

Fully Fulfilled.
Eyes that see. A hart that feels. And cares. And maybe a photographer registers. To show you what it is like. Through haze and pixels, we see. And are touched.
A photographers desire fulfilled.
FF, a true dream. Full Fulfillment.
Not one dollar changes that.
Whether you have that one dollar or not.
Nor the tool you use.

The Pentax Q - a real World user review

What an amazing review, ... it says it all. Many thanks.

These days I have a new nightmare : Pentax Ricoh no longer investing in my Q.
This aside from the ff nightmare.
Yesterday I was out with my q with the 01 and 02 and it isn't a p&s, the more attention you give the q, the better and more incredible the results. Indeed.
Finally I have a miraculous mini camera and now I don't want to loose it, I do want more for my q.
In the middle of the night I sat up, haunted to a feverish wake-up: what if I will never have my q tele zoom and worse: what if they never will give me a fast tele and what if that mini macro never comes. I am feverishly wishing for them.
And I know, firmware updates are desirable and there are 3d party k mount adapters, but I want small, q-small. Fast, modern and up-to-date. And if the system is to be neglected, still want the lenses.
It is so bad to have something so beautiful and then fear to have it to just see it die.

Well, how we love to dream and dream on.
Maybe there will be a pentax ff. Yeah, why not. Could be nice with a 31 and a 77. If the combo weighs less than 1500 grams. Then I might buy. But only then.
Saving up is always good, because sometimes you need a new laundry machine or vacuum cleaner. And sometimes someone else really needs your help.
And sometimes when the bright and shining moment is there, you might wonder if you really want it. I am curious though, as to how it would perform.

Admire it, adore it, embrace it, love it, smile and forget your doubts.
Go to sleep in the evening and then, next morning, wisdom will brighten your day.
If not, I think you shouldn't have bought it.

And though you ask us, and many will answer, you already know best.
And if not, go to sleep in the evening, don't close the curtains completely,
leave the window open slightly, surely a wisdom fairy will fly in and whisper the truth into your ear.

Of course you can always decide to change the mount each year.

And next morning you will know what to do. :)

My ship is in the middle of the ocean and I cann't see no other near, if I jump I am even more lost then I am now on this lonely boat of me. It may be half wrecked, with wholes near the water line and I might be drowning soon, but is is what I am on. To what other shore shall I turn to salvage me. This mere boat must carry me or I shall be lost in the sea.

I love my k-5 sitting on the shelf. It looks so solid and stern. With its fancy 31ltd.
I love my q in my small purse. It handles so extremely well. A breeze.
MMMMmmmmmmm ... k-01, I wonder how that one would be. Curious I am.
My, you can focus with ovf evf amoledscreen ... or focuszone (ricoh comes to mind) (ah yeh that is someting pentaxy now too) and carry super featherweight or concreteheavyblockcams or a middle weight ... and all have quality to offer.
I am standing in front of the shopwindow with eager eyes and a pounding hart ... when I was 8 years old I had the same feeling standing in front of the shopwindow, only then I scrutinzed dolls. Heaving real children now I decided camera's are better toys.

Pentax Q a Failure?
Posted By PentaxMom Felua

I love my q.
My husband loves my q (there is a danger there).
My children love my q (it is getting more dangerous every time I show off q to the family).
My daughter in law already asked when she could have it for some time (she did not define how much time) for she loves it too.
I have now stopped showing my q to others. It is safer. Because I need my q.

Meanwhile I am convinced owning a q is a healthy thing.
It makes you alert, you see everything and so no longer miss shooting oportunities, because you cann't have someone sneekingly pinch your q. : trains eyesight.
It is a blessing for the back as it is tiny and light. : q is soothing for your back, shoulders and wrist.
It sets your wardrobe worrying soul free. : q always fits in somewhere and offers you the comforting feel not to need an ugly overly large brown bag.
It lets you relax because indeed q knows how to focus properly by discarding ff and bf troubles.
And if things turn not out as you would have hoped, you can always proclaim that you cann't possibly blame your q too hard, because everyons knows it has not yet a full grown sensor but that doesn't matter because it is your perfect little q.

Q is good for you, it exhilirates your mind and lifts your soul out of the heavy dlsr drag blues to new q hights of spiritual liberation. Q is not only good for your body, but also for you psychological health.

Q is better than asperine. Get one.

New Cameras....What are Your Plans?

Yes, interesting it is. But for now there is no one solution. Will there ever be. And would that be a necessity.
I love Pentax for no real good reasons, mainly because it has always been with me. I have a K-5. For now. And who knows what will be. I should very much like a simple ff. But if that cannot be, I don't think I shall ever buy one from nikon or canon. Not because they aren't good, but simply because I need to keep up the "fight" with my nikon brother and "canon" family-in-law. Life has strange tricks. But then again, I could leave all that behind, simply buy pentax d645. It depends, if my youngest deep autistic son can find a way in life, I will. If not, that money too goes into his fund. And I continue selling off the seemingly endless stream of old family stuff. O well. That bought me almost all of my gear upto now.

I look upon it like this. I love Pentax and will always have it. Just because.
Aps-c K-5 is nice, it indeed has more life than m43.
But oly e-p3 brings me a whole other quality of photography joy. It is as if it tells me not to bother or worry so much, take it all a bit less serious. I like that. It is nice and friendly and happy. And easy
That is quality too. And anyway, considering the enourmous amount of dead and gone by family members left behind photographs and what is done to that ... I have no illusions none whatsoever. It almost all simply disappears. But I know they were happy being busy with it. That memory counts.

And I have samsung nx100 and 200 and all of the primes, bought for almost a penny, been lucky. Can't buy a fuji body for what I paid for the lot. Fun quality. Both small (with pancakes even tiny) and large (a bit weird, a nx200 with a nx85). But it works amazingly. I have fun. Take my son with me. Sometimes he likes that and we can even talk a minute. He loves to track ants and other crawlers, which turns us into crawlers. You see a whole different world on your belly in the mud.

Well, you can't have it all. But you sure can have fun with what you have. It is great to see so many new products and oportunities, yes. Got to be creative.

FA 31 or DA 21 + FA 43

Oh the joy of lenses. And the despair. For what it's worth: if ever there will be ff pentax, I really do hope there will be new digitally adapted ltd's. Like with aps.
To frogfish: yes, da15 shines with stars. But if you have a really good copy 16-50, it can shine equally, though without the stars.
I used to own quite some Zeisses. I happily sold them all. Indeed about choice it is all. They truly are different lenses. But so are Meyers, or Russians. And Steinheil. For that matter. It's geeky. And wonderful. And enticing. And and so on. But also slow operational wise. Not convenient when needing to be fast paced.
Fa31 is overrated. But very good all around. I have an auto takumar 35 2.3. Now, that is a lens. Not as good as, but sometimes better. But you know, equipment that you have come to know and you used it a lot and you keep coming back to it, that, that is your thing. I always think you should let time give you the oportunity to grow into what you have. To love it and care for it. This special feeling beats better performance, it makes me feel better. Not a better photographer, for I am not. But certainly a happier photographer.
Fa31 is still busy earning that status.

But fa31 is a masterpiece in museums (if they let you use it).

When we are into it and work hard to bring to light all we see and what it evokes in us. We can sure use a camera, or words on paper with pencils - graphite. Turn a way away from our useal steps and sight and pathways. Step into the light when it is there and find the words we already knew but suddenly are so new and then frame them with a picture - I grow older now and life burdens and burdens become heavier with ballast. I have started to clean the house out: what on earth is it I really need to meet what I want to see and feel and if I do, is it really a need aswell to keep wanting to share that. I have come to long for silence more and more and my disire for haze and fleeting corners in the edge of seemingly important pictures has outgrown the importance of daily days dictation on what should. I sit and smile and find new tears in re-recognising things gone by and passing by. I touch as it touches me, sometimes with paper sometimes with a photo.

Recognitione, the eye of the one that sees , the eye of the one that wants to be truly touched.

I struggle to get past the gear, lame, I want to build a static moment that is still fluent and fading. Next moment is already there.

I cann't vote, there is no box for Ricoh-Pentax. I would like that, appropriate.
If k-mount stays, all is well, it shouldn't dissappear all of a sudden.
Compacts, mirrorless ones, aps-c's, ff's, mf's: all to be named Ricoh-Pentax. Sounds nice, I like it.
A lot is changing and doing so rapidly. Why would it all be negative. Let's express hope with this good sounding name Ricoh-Pentax.

Picture quality, in a way, is relative. If you value it above all, go full format. Take the pain.

We all want the best. Why? Logic. The best is powerful and mighty.

But reality humbles. Often to document, just to plainly document my experiences/emotions, simple quality suffices. To be able to move, just move about and go unnoticed, is the most important. Many around me have a quick laugh seeing a picture, all fleets by. It was enough.

I do not have expositions in famous halls, but maybe you do, nor do I make a living with pictures. Ridiculous thought in my world. Photography is just an alternative to words, picture=/-communication. It is fast, it is direct, explicit.

Mini should be mini. Really. Preferably turquoise with nice grass green lenses.

Why would it bother anyone, the "mini" ('s) quality? Noone is ordered to buy or use one. You have many alternatives. Or do we secretely want the mini to be big and perform in an outrageous way we know is honestly not realistic? Nothing matters more than freedom of movement and expression. I could easily have bought a 645D, but I don't think I need it. It really doesn't "befIt" me. But he now, a mini would.

Really looking forward to mini. My wish for the mini: guess: mini, turqoise with green lenses, best possible IQ/performance, cute little bag to go with it, and go with it.
