Even shooting in jpeg I get decent results with Topaz B&W
Leica appeals to a very small up scale consumer....tuff for Pentax to make it in that market

Arne you are visiting some great places. Great photo ops will almost hit you in the head. There are many good guide books to your sites (with more info than web sites). You are going to have a great trip.

You will want a WR lens (the K-30 is a WR body) at some point. Sand and Dirt do not treat no WR cameras well, much less rain

I did the same an agree a good decision. Rather than sell my K-r and kits, I donated to the United Way. A lot of these non profits could us a decent camera but can not justify it in their meger budgets.
That K-30 with the 18-135 is one great WR setup for $850. What would that kind of WR set up cost you from Nikcan?

LeRolls: you produce some great images....you need to get the DA15; I look forward to seeing what you would do with it.

Great choice. Many of the great landscape photogs want great depth of field from the foreground (say a rock or a flower) to the mountains in the distance. Check out many of Ansel Adams photos. The 15 DA helps to provide this great depth of field and also use an apature setting such a f16 but good thing about the 15DA is you can get away with an f11 or even f8 and have great depth of field. There are times when you may want to use a telephoto but a wide angle is a great tool in the hands of a landscape photog
